LED Coronas?

Have the 2011 M3's been updated to the LED Angel Eyes? They came on my F10 550i and wow......what a difference! Very nice?

Thanks!

not updated on the M3 yet. I don't believe anyone has a good reason why. they just haven't changed them. they have on the regular 3 series though.

It's a matter of cost. Given the low volume of M3s produced relative to non-M E92s and E93s, it would have been costly for BMW to update the car to the new lights. The change would have necessitated a new front bumper and possibly hood to accomodate the updated shape of the lights. Given that BMW did the same thing with the LCI E46 M3, it wasn't surprising that the company went the same route with the LCI E92 M3.

Aftermarket upgrades are available. Got 'em for my M3 E90. They make a huge difference. You can find them on www.jlevistreetwerks.com

is there any way to upgrade the angel eyes?

or do you have to go the OSS route.

Maybe I stand alone but I like the halogen look of the angel eyes. Or maybe I just really don't like the look of the OEM LED eyes. I'll make note that I'm not opposed to aftermarket led eyes, however.

I'm not buying that line of reasoning. Yes, it may be costly, but not because they'd have to change the shape of the bumper and hood... because they probably had an inventory of the old model that they probably still wanted to burn through.

I like the halogen color, too, but what I don't like is the mix of the halogen rings juxtaposed with the xenon headlamps. They should all match one way or the other.

Nope. I'm in the same boat as Mr. Kirk up above... Weisslicht LEDs installed immediately after I brought the car home from the dealer. Great alternative to the big $$$ of AiB and OSS.

PERFECT colour match.

I like the halogen angel eyes too, and I like how they are a different color than the blue xenons. I may be the only one!

Yes, the AIB systems are by far the best route, the systems are designed for the brightest and most uniform light output.

Simply put, the AiBs are considered the M3 of aftermarket Angel Eyes.

By posting both of these pictures, are you implying that the AiBs are as bright as the 2011 LCI LED halos?

Yes, they are very close to the LCI non-M versions.

For those in the SoCal area, you are welcome to see the them in person.

everyone needs to do their own research when it comes to figuring out which AE setup suits their needs. Don't get caught up by pics...as you read and search thru threads, the same comments seem to be made about every set-up (individually)...some too bright, most not bright enough, some require too much work to install.......

You are spot on. I too was very disappointed my 2011 didnt come with the refreshed headlights but when I got the opportunity to speak with Larry Koch who is the M Brand Manager for the USA at a recent MPower Tour event, I asked him this exact question and this is what he told me. It was all about cost. They werent about to alter the M3 for its last year of production. Also confirmed no new M3 til 2014 model year

Consequently, I went with Alex@Alpine's HID's and I have no regrets. Dealer saw them at a recent service and was baffled as to how my M had the new lights til I clued him in to the mod.

No, they are not. LCI halos are by a magnitude better than AiBs. The BMW promo shot is in full daylight and not at the same level as the headlights. Your AiB shot is overcast and shot at headlight level where nearly all the LED halo solutions look "bright". Look, I understand your need to sell your products but at least be a LITTLE fair in your representation.
