Speaking of jerks in the parking garage
At the garage I park in there's this one space in an inconvenient part of the garage (undesirable) that I get into work early enough, I can get. It's the space on the right in this picture, and it's nearly 2 full spaces wide. I'm guessing it exists because of the pole and walkway that prevented them from marking out 3 spaces, and stupidly rather than two generous spaces, they made a standard one, and a comically wide one. Usually I get in early enough to get the prized location, but today someone in a pickup truck was there before me, so, no worries, I got in the one next to it, and parked close to the line on the far side near the walkway that almost nobody ever uses.
So, tonight I come out and obviously the pickup went home a while ago, and somebody has come and parked in the double king sized space, and decided, "F#ck all this space I have, I'm gonna park right next to that M3." WTF? |

I gave up trying to understand their logic when it's clear you wanted your space. Shiet man I don't even want to park next to $200K plus car for the sake of personal space.
So far I've had SUV and soccer mom van parked next to me. Just anticipate the worse on your next parking 😂 |

Yeah, that's actually why I hugged the line I did, because the truck had sanely parked right in the middle of the jumbo slot. But something in my mind said "You never know if someone else will end up in that space, better be careful" Possibly me hugging the line next to the walkway is what caused this person to want to make me uncomfortable? Who knows.

haha that sucks, yea I typically am willing to walk extra just to have a roomier parking space or just play it totally safe and park super far from everyone. Luckily at work, I don't have to be next to anyone or walk far

In their defense, they're still within the line. Maybe they wanted to be near the exit.
I've seen much worse around here. |

Agreed, in any normal situation, totally fine. But given the size of that space, there's no way this is an accident. Just glad I thought to park waaaaay over in the end space I was in.
I'm lucky, where I work if you come in early enough there's about 5-7 spaces (anomalies like this one) spread around within walking distance of my office where I can get an extra 1-2 feet of space between me and "the neighbors". Good news is I'm an early riser and am usually into work in enough time to secure one of the 'good' spaces. They do fill up 1st in their respective garages, so I'm not the only one looking for one! |

Maybe they thought that was 2 spots? Or maybe there was no where else to park so they squeezed in there and the other car to their right left by the time you came out? Just a thought. Or maybe they are in fact just being a douche. At least they backed in so odds are just a driver got out.

That's what I find disturbing about these fukkers! Of all the spaces and parking stalls available and nearest their destination and still feel the need to grind up on your ass.
People generally park as close as possible. I was a public laundry mat washing my car cover so I parked ways out in anticipation of these fukkers parking next to you. Surely enough a fat soccer mom van parked right next to me. I had to give that some thought and asked myself why would this fat broad park next to me and have to haul her dirty ass laundries miles away when there was plenty of stalls right by the entrance?!?! Don't these people get it??? 😂 |

You're correct, if I owned that Saturn I would do that purposely just to fuck with you, backed in, straddling the line and all

In defense of the Saturn, what if somebody had thought that wide spot was two spaces and another car had parked on the other side? Then the Saturn would have parked in between your car and the previous? At least he did back in and leave plenty of space. Even if he did swing his door wide, there's enough space for a full door swing. Sucks that he did park next to you, but I agree, why on that line?! It's always a toss up whether it's only him or a passenger as well.

Some people don't park by the parking like, they park based on the vehicle next to them and then by feel, don't stop until they hit a curb or something.
But yea, douche highly likely.

I might be off here, but I don't think he gave parking the way he did much thought in the way of "let me park as close to this asshole in the M3 as I can to piss him off". In fact, he probably thought he was doing the right thing by taking up less of the overtly and obnoxiously large parking space to allow someone else to park in there if needs be.
He drives a Saturn ffs. Not everyone in this world is out to get you or your car. I might be a little annoyed walking back to my car at first glance but I would've been over it within 3 seconds.
