Service miles versus date

So here are screen shots of service required:
For vehicle check it says "10/2016" on first line then it also says
"In 12000 mls".

So which is the one the dealer will use? The date or miles?

By the way this is a cpo just bought a month ago. So why
Would it need something in 2 months if it was cpo??

Brake fluid says "10/2016".

Thanks guys for the prompt answer.

As stated this was CPO (with 16k miles) so shouldn't they have check or filled the brake fluid a month ago so I wouldn't have to get it done so soon? Or were they not required to do it as it was not "time" yet? It seems to me they should have just filled it so I wouldn't have to in 2 months.

It's illogical to think the dealer has the car's (or your) best interests in mind.

The dealer wants you to bring the car in so they can charge you. I bought my car as a cpo as well and within 2,000 miles I had to change the plugs, diff fluid, flush the coolant etc...

They won't perform services early when it's on their dime.

They will certainly check the brake fluid before selling it, yes (basic safety checks/inspections). That's why they'll sometimes parade around the fact it has brand new tires -- it's a safety thing.

These on board maintenance computers are a mystery to dealers. The dealer can only read the current requirements. My dealer is lost when it comes to predicting what the computer will ask for next. And the on board computer determines what the dealer is allowed to cover under warranty. Big discussion on other threads.

Yeah, and then there's the issue that some CBS isn't even in the computer/key reading (such as spark plugs which are just a static mileage change).

CPO does have some requirements, such as (I think) tires and brakes having at least 50% remaining life, but maybe brake fluid doesn't have a minimum remaining life standard.

And then there is that 'permanent' fluid in the DCT for those with that option.
