Just ordered my first BMW ever !!!
After several months of debating which car to get next, I placed an order for my M3. Space Gray, Black Extended Novillo, Alum trim, 6-sp, Competition, Convenience, Prem 2, Premium sound, heated seats.
This car is going to be my toy. It will not be a daily driver but will definitely see a lot of duty as a weekend cruiser between our main home and vacation home near the coast, about 2 hours away. I have a Porsche Cayenne GTS for family/practical duty. I'm coming from an Audi RS4, then a Nissan 350Z before that, then an Audi S4 before that, then two Honda Preludes before that, then a Mustang 5.0 before that. First mod is definitely going to have to be the exhaust. Don't know how many of you have heard the Audi RS4 exhaust, but it is sweet indeed. The M3 exhaust actually sounds a lot like the exhaust on my Cayenne in sport mode. Nice, but not like the RS4. I don't want something loud and droning, but I would prefer a more exotic sound. Cost is not an issue, but it needs to be able to pass OBD based emissions testing. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks, and very excited to be here. There are only a handful of cars (excluding exotics) that are truly "legendary", with a long heritage. The M3 is one of them. Only others I can think of in the U.S. are the Mustang, Camaro, Vette, Nissan Z, Porsche 911. Needless to say, the M3 and 911 have a level of refinement that the others do not. Now begins the 6-8 week wait. Uggh!! Last edited by LarThaL; 04-21-2011 at 06:53 PM.. |

Welcome aboard. You will love the car. As for exhaust, I know everyone on here loves the Full Akrapovic system when money is not an issue.

Kreissieg exhaust if price is no issue. Will not be a problem passing emissions.
Congrats and welcome to the disease. This board + M3 = modding disease lol

Welcome! For exhausts, I can't recommend the M Performance exhaust enough. Check out the second link in my signature and search for my "unboxing" thread for more information about it.

Welcome - great to see another M3 in MA. I like my Akra slip on, which will not give you any problems with emission testing and has no drone.
