Have questions about M Performance? Ask here

This has been done before, but BMW is always lining up new products for the future and let's do it again.

Do you have a question about M Performance? Future products? Current products? Ask them in this thread before Wednesday of this week.
Questions about what products will be available for 2013?

I will be discussing the most popular and/or best topics with BMW Performance manager Eric Riehle at a BMW conference.

Will they offer a multipiston fixed caliper upgrade for the E92?

Edit: Nevermind. I was thinking "M performance" as a generic term, rather than BMW's after market performance parts solutions.

Tell him we need more steering feel, not less with each new model.
I'd be willing to pay for a part that does that.

Will they offer an economical brake duct kit for the E92 M3 which isn't made of CF but nice pliable plastic so when you encounter a parking stop or rumble strip it can handle the pain? Oh yeah dont forget the none CF rotor backings to round it out!

I don't think BMW will be considering any changes for the outgoing E9x platform folks .

Even if they do, it'll be more expensive than a Brembo or StopTech BBK. Look at the exhaust they came up with...

when will the new performance steering wheel with LED come out? The new design has been around for about a year now. what is holding BMW back on releasing it? if they don't plan on release the new steering wheel why did they discontinue the old one?

True but the 1 series offering is very reasonably priced.

The performance exhaust are made of light weight inconel.. great weight saving over the stock or some aftermarket SS design.. That is why they are expensive.. do your research before posting.

BMW REALLY needs to make a short shifter kit for this car just like Porsche has for their vehicles. Also, if BMW came out with some lowering kits or coilovers I'm pretty positive it would be a hot item here as long as the prices are reasonable.

Thanks for the advice. I usually do my research. I know they're made of inconel. The point is, was it necessary? The tiny amount of weight you save at the back of the car doesn't do any noticeable good. For the same total weight, you want slightly more weight bias at the back anyways...

Back to topic, whatever they do, they will use unnecessary materials (like carbon fiber in brake ducts) and will push the price. Of course it will have "BMW brand tax" as well.

Dwayne Mosley and I have been exploring the possibility of BMW Performance offering a ZCP suspension retrofit with Eric, but that should be another topic that you include as part of this interview.

They don't use inconel because of it's weight, because if they were going for maximum weight reduction they would've used a titanium alloy.

+ 1. I went in for service the other day and just for kicks I inquired about a performance exhaust install. They gave me a price around $6k.....

How about an MDM retrofit for us early buyers without Tech?
