Does your head rest on the headrest?
Here is something I have been wondering for a while.
Does your head rest against the headrest when you drive your M3? Is it supposed to? No matter how I adjust my seat, I would have to have my head tilted back at an awkward angle to actually touch the headrest. I am 6'2" if it matters. I was in my friend's new Mercedes today and noticed the headrest is actually supportive and is against your head at all times.

Same here... But I remember watching a BMW video on proper seating positions and they said that you're not supposed to rest your head on the "headrest" haha

I am also 6'2" and have set up an alternate position (there are two memory slots and no one else is allowed to drive my car, so they are both mine) for my seat in such a way that I can lean back and rest my head on the headrest while cruising on long road trips. Then the other saved position is for more spirited and/or city driving.
You don't want the headrest that close to you, it would leave no room for the track helmet! Kidding aside, I'm annoyed that the headrest doesn't tilt at all. |

Technically it is called a head restraint, not a headrest. For a reason...

The 2008 models have head restraints that tilted. After that, it was required by law to have head restraints that moved forward in an accident, and thats why they can't tilt anymore. .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

The euro delivery lady at welts de a big deal about Americans not adjusting the headrest properly (not hight enough) and setting the alarm to an audible beep...she said those two things are how she knows if a driver is American lol

I rarely put my head on the headrest (6' 1") except at long red lights when I kind of lay back so to speak. What drives me crazy is my wife's Cayenne. For some reason the distance is far further back so the headrest is useless for lazily laying back.

This reminds me of airplane head"rests" and how I hate them. Who wants their head constantly pushed forward? You have a neck, use it.

The headrest isn't there for comfort, it's there to prevent your neck from getting jacked up in an accident.
That being said I hate how it doesn't tilt because it's actually angled forward too much for my liking. In normal day to day driving I rarely rest my head on it but on long drives I usually position my head on it as comfortably as possible for the long haul
