No, it comes with new connecting pipes and clamps. Check out the unboxing pictures in the other thread in the media forum http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=493092

ah, thanks. I missed that in the pictures Looks like they are similar to the stock ones, I wonder if someone wouldn't mind taking more pics, to better see the bends/etc. Probably doesn't matter much since there is no advertised power gains

They look like stock pipes that have been cut off, still have the triangular cross-section and whatnot. If they weigh 9lbs I'd be surprised if they were inconel. I thought I saw somebody found the stock pipes weigh around 10lbs and that makes sense, 56.5-10=46.5, 46.5-26.5 = 20lbs

I really just can't understand why anyone will pay $4,300 for an exhaust that is a tiny bit louder, has some nice tips yet has zero performance gains. I just don't get it.

Maybe you guys are made of money or have one of those money trees growing $100 bills.

The Akra is 100x better solution, 20hp gains, sounds better, yes - I love the M laser etched tips - but for $4,300???

It's ridiculous - I just don't get it.

I guess if I was BMW I'd probably do the same thing since there are people with tons of money to throw into the fire pit.

The problem is they made it out of inconel for no good reason. 20 lbs. Is no big deal. No ones buying this exhaust for weight savings. It's completely unnecessary on a street driven car. I wish it was just SS it would've cost way less and I def would've gotten it. I like the sound from the video

The Akra slip-on doesn't add 20hp, more like 2. You're thinking of the Evolution system which goes for closer to $5600, removes the primary cats and throws a CEL. You can probably achieve nearly the same power gains from removing the factory primary cats for $2.00 worth of welding supplies and a few hours' work, (less the weight savings of course). So why do so many members spend the money for the Akra evo? To lose 50 pounds? I doubt it. I suspect it's because it's a one-stop shop for turning a 414hp car into a 440hp car that fits right, looks decent, weighs a little less, compliments the M3's overall character as an over-engineered do-everything car, and sounds decent.

Nobody has posted a dyno for the performance exhaust to find out what impact it has, but it's probably similar to the akra slip-on and every other cat-back exhaust - minimal

This exhaust is selling for around $3800, not $4300, so it's not THAT much more than the Akra slip-on, though I'm sure dealers will be asking for the MSRP when they roll it into lease payments for the people who pick it up at purchase time.

I figure you're going to buy it at $3,400 or so and then sell it a couple of years later for $1,000-1,500. So, it's about $2K for the sound and looks, over 2 or 3 years. BTW, I heard the exahust on aajami's car at cars and coffee last week, and must say taht it sounded quite nice to my ears. Much more aggressive than stock.

Thanks, piloto. I'm really, really happy with this exhaust. It ticks all of the right checkmarks and none of the wrong ones. Only fools pay the asking price for goods, and this exhaust can be had for significantly less than the $4,400 MSRP. My only wish would be for the tip diameter to be 3.25 inches, but I'm not losing a single minute of sleep over it.

Kaykay, since you're in Socal, I'll happily meet up with you to show you the exhaust.

do you have any more videos? man I wish the car came this way from the factory (I mean I guess it can if you got $). I agree though buying brand new I would opt for this over Akra slip-on.

I just got my installed yesterday and it sounds fantastic.. It sounds way better in person than it does in the videos for some reason also. I got a great deal on it as well. If anyone is on the fence about buying it I would highly suggest hearing it in person and getting a ride before deciding to buy another exhaust based on how it sounds on a video.
