Well, Ive owned my M3 for a few months now, which is just long enough to have been called a plethora of colorful insults by other drivers(that is after they catch up with me. )
I think the world is going soft with too many people driving shitbox Prius's and Leafs. Seems anytime I overtake a driver in one of the aforementioned poop vehicles I am more than likely going to be called an asshole, tough guy, or my favorite old school remark just the other day, a dip shit.
Anyone else feel the hate when driving your M?

From the people I know, I've got nothing but oooh's and aaah's.

Just last week, we were having a block party and I was at a baseball game, so I missed most of it. Later, my wife told me that my neighbor across the street who drives a Cayman came up to her and told her that he's into cars, and that the vert that I bought was really nice.

I was leaving baseball practice and another neighbor drove by and remarked..."nice drop top" as he was checking it out.

A moron on the road made a merge in front of me and then I swerved to go past her in her range rover...she honked as I passed her. I guess she wanted me to wait in line behind her as she got up to speed.

I usually drive the speed limit and other cars who I see coming fast tend to slow down when they see the M beast is on the prowl.

Sometimes I think I'm invisible on the road. Hey Blackman, I had a buddy years ago and he looked to race every car he passed on the road. Didn't matter the car or if the driver was 80. Let's just say he got more honks and middle fingers in one day than I have gotten in a lifetime of driving. Whenever we would go somewhere as a group he wanted to drive but no one wanted to be his passenger so he would drive alone. Are you this guy lol.

I've only gotten compliments for the most part. Maybe a dirty look here or there because my exhaust is pretty loud. But i try to control the volume level and am conscious of my surroundings

All of the verbal interactions I've had have been positive. However, I have also gotten my share of middle fingers and people cutting me off. Usually it's associated with a more aggressive maneuvering on the road. When driven normally, I think people can appreciate the car. The flip side is that I think the threshold for people lashing out is a lower in the M3 than on other cars.

On normal drives (not commuting), the response seems to be pretty good and everyone leaves me alone.
Unfortunately when I use the M3 as my DD, I get out of work around the same time as the local High School and every Honda Civic in town tries to race. They'll drive 5 below the speed limit and as soon as I go to pass they floor it, so I've found that I have to floor it to get around them, then get back to the normal speed. This may make me unpopular with some people, but I haven't had anyone express their displeasure yet. Single lane highways can be rough.

I daily my M3 and no one bats an eye. Knowing where I live, they just see a regular white BMW with larger fenders, black wheels, carbon accents, full catless exhaust & noisy r888r tires and think I am one of the ricers.

I like to think that my car is special, but it is most special to me and mostly transparent to other drivers. Most are too buried in their phone taking selfies to take notice that the light has changed or they are drifting out of their lanes or they need to stop rather than plow into the back of the car in front of them.

This is not exclusive to M3s. Any sort of nice or unique car suffers from the same thing. Just the other week I had some random [drunk] dude see me sitting at a stoplight in my Corvette and he yelled that I must have a small penis. I was doing absolutely nothing offensive or annoying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To be clear, are you flying by people at WOT all of the time? If so, I think that is going to draw ire regardless of the car (e.g. if some guy in a Prius goes roaring past me at 90mph I'll probably be just as mad as if it was a Porsche 911 Turbo).

well, i am not sure i come to suit ur answer. Though, i make girls scream when my tuned exhaust sounds at alley,
m provokes ferrari, one jaguar owner spit on the road front me,

well, it is M. if they know they know, they dont know they would react all different!

i tend to be a nice driver since it isnt honda.

It's more about getting around them so I can continue on my way as normal. I feel unsafe when someone is trying to speed-check me. I live in a rural area where there aren't any streets I can cut through to get away from their nonsense.
