The matt black M3 from Innvent is a car tuning company over here and the coating takes well into the 8 work hours & needless to mention well into the € 3000,00 to to it. I just love it. I myself clear coated my M3 with Trimline form 3M. Was worth every cent I paid

I would like disadvice you on that.. it would probably be the first & last time you do so as the fotographers on the ring are paid by the rental companies if they catch one of thier cars on film during rental. With that sort of proof they can charge you with the whole braking system and tyres & any other speed damage (stone hits & chips) they find, even if it wasnīt you the paint job alone will kill you.. take from someone who rented from Sixt !

Next time youīll have 4 count me in !! Where are you stationed BTW ? We might drive by to make an AW M3 convoy, PM plz the next time.
Booforty has to coat his M white now

I guess I'll have to rent from rent-racecar. I'll be sure to PM you the next time we head to the Ring. I tried to do it this weekend but the track was closed even though their website said otherwise. I'm stationed in Illesheim, so it is a bit of a detour for you.

How does (if at all) does the 335i compare to the M3?

The Ring is very bumpy with huge elevation and camber changes - the 335i bobs and floats and generally moves around too much to inspire real confidence. My video would NOT have looked like this one.

The lack of a limited slip hurts, as do the runflats, soft suspension etc. Brakes were ok, but I wasn't really pushing.

I hope to be back this year with an M3 or 135i...

Will do! This is the first real winter in 3 years so I don't expect to try to hit the Ring until April at the earliest.

I agree with adc. The 335i feels numb in comparison to the M3. The M3's steering is so precise, the car goes exactly where you want it to go, makes a zero into a hero on the track. The speed difference is not that great between the two cars, but the M3 just does it with much more agility and energy thanks to the high rev engine, DCT, LSD, and EDC. The 335i is still no slouch when compared to its own segment, just not comparable to the M3 IMO.
