Where did you purchase and which part exactly did you purchase? Did you get OEM?

I found this on Tischer
http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/201...agramCallOut=5

I believe I need to purchase Part Number: 63217289429 tail lamp 2009-12, ON QUARTER PANEL, SEDAN at a price of $188. Does this look right to you? Btw, my right tail lamp is flickering giving me a rear right tail lamp light error.

Dealer also told me that they wouldn't cover under CPO and that the cost would be $500+ to replace one light...

I have my rear drl's disabled. You have to code it out, as this is not an option in the I drive. Check the bmw coding forums.

You can code that feature off, so that you can ghost ride at night!

The PN you listed is for the left (drivers) side rear
Here are the BMW PN's
63217289429 - Rear light in the side panel, left
63217289427 - Rear light in trunk lid, left

63217289430 - Rear light in the side panel, right
63217289428 - Rear light in trunk lid, right

You stated your "right" side so you would have bought the wrong part.
My right side also went out. Put 63217289430 in the RockAuto catalog under PN
TYC Part # 111167790 - $53.99

10 mins for the swap.
Note that the PN's are for LCI lights, not the Pre LCI!

Also here's a discount code for RockAuto
2853145420767036
Expires 4/5/15 good for 5% off.

I have NO affiliation with RA.. just trying to pass on some info and savings.

You should be able to buy them separately.
Even ECS sells them by themselves as does Rockauto

No, not OEM but you can't tell from the outside. LED's are bright, the light bar is even and the quality is good.
The red lens is the same color as the original.

Yes, I got OEM parts from the dealer here in Richmond, VA. Since I have extended warranty took my car there in hopes they would fix it and ended up buying the set.

Not at the dealership. They come together in one box.

Heads up. The rockauto parts are a 98% match. My level of OCD is such that I can't handle the 2% difference. I ordered OEM instead from Tischer and found it was a 100% match.

Basically the RA version looked perfect, actually fit better than OEM, but when lit up there is slightly less differentiation between the light bar and the background. The OEM background is slightly darker. Hard to tell in pictures. Personally I would swap out all lights with RA (trunk and quarter panel) or stick with OEM.

Good to know. Thankfully I don't have OCD.
Sorry it didn't work out perfectly.

Yeah seriously, it can be problematic. I appreciate the lead. RA looks to be a good option for a lot of stuff.

Ha. It's my ///Minivan
Meh, never felt the need to add it just like I don't list my M3 on the Odyssey forum.

Funny thing though was when you posted on the 'why do people white out the license plate' thread, I had some regrets about why I edited my plate out lol

Good to know it worked out!
For those who need a discount code, they just sent me a new one. I buy a lot of parts for other cars I fix.
