Who is going to Lower their 2011 ZCP
I bought Eibach springs long before the ZCP package came available and am now debating weather I should install them or not.
The ZCP suspension is ~0.4" lower all around and Eibach Prokit is ~0.8"F and 0.6"R. I am wondering if it is really worth taking it apart and installing the Eibach's for ~0.4" difference in the front and only ~0.2" difference in the rear. Let me know what you think. |

Assuming you are an enthusiast who's #1 concern is the handling of the car, then all you are going to do is ruin the handling. Can you improve the ///M3's handling? I'm 100% sure you can if you rip out the springs and shocks/struts and put a more race focused, tuned, set of high-end coil overs, but if that is the case, why shell out the money for the ZCP?
Fight the urge to make this car sit lower and just appreciate it for its beauty stock ride height. Sell the springs and put the money towards HPED, and do what most of us could stand to gain from: more skills behind the wheel so as to enable us to more properly extract the full potential of this beast. But, remember one thing mate, mine is just an opinion. I don't build race cars and therefore can't tell you for certain what I say is at all true. Cheers, e46e92

I have a ZCP car on order, and intend to leave it stock. I think the decision depends on your purpose. If you just prefer the looks of a lower car, then shorter springs are okay for you. But, putting together a really track-capable car requires much more.
After a number of years and dollars spent on track stuff, I now have a strong aversion for modifying an expensive street car. If track performance is your goal, you can buy or put together a dedicated track car for much less money. |

ive been thinking of doing the ground control upgrade so EDC can still be there...
I dont know though, i dont see much of a diff over stock suspension eventhough it is lower, i guess time will tell, it needs to settle. I think the comp will lock stunning with a 1 inch drop all around with spacers. Anyone have weight of the comps wheels? |

I think what I have decided to do is use the car for the first year at stock ride height.
My reasoning for this is that I am going to give the car a chance to settle and find it's final height before making any decisions. If after the first season of use the car doesn't sit like I want it to I will put the Eibach's in. |

Now that I think of it. If I knew I was going to lower it from the beginning I would not have gotten ZCP because it comes with EDC. I would of gotten the regular wheels, non-edc and buy the comp wheels off someone, and then lower it. I am sure in a few months we will be seeing comp wheels for sale on ebay.

I think the notion of springs settling to a final resting height after a number of months is a myth. I'm fairly sure the height that any car comes out from the factory from is the ride height it will have for years and years to come, assuming the shocks don't blow.

When everything is new it is tight and has to work in. Just like a new engine, springs, bushings and struts/shocks need a little time to break in. In fact if you look at a brand new car and one a few months old there will definitely be a difference in height, albeit sometimes a very minor difference. |
