BBS RE refinished in Anthracite.
I bought a second set of the forged magnesium BBS REs that were a little rough. I had one refinished in the standard BBS silver to replace a cracked wheel in my current set. I'm having the rest refinished in Anthracite to be used as my track wheels.
The original color set will be for sale in a month or so at somewhere around $3000. These are NOT street wheels. They'll crack on the first pothole. This might give the RAC guys an idea of what the anthracite (British Black) might look like. Sorry for the crappy phone pics. Before: After: Last edited by Radiation Joe; 12-15-2011 at 06:34 PM.. |

BBS RE Mg is awesome.
you are so lucky to have gotten your hands on a set. We talked to BBS and they wanted to do like a 40pc per size order! That anthracite wheel looks awesome! congratulations!

They definitely look darker (which I like) than the photos of the RAC anthracite wheels. The RAC wheels look more grey, and I am cocerned that they might clash with SG.

Worried about the same thing. I have a SG car also and the Anthracite in the pictures look almost like it would clash.

The RAC British Black AND anthracite aren't that dark. The british black also won't have that glossy finish, they're a matte finish.

More Colors!
I agree that British Black and Anthracite are both too light for SG RAC GB-ers.
That leaves us with 2 colors (black and silver) which I'm not to excited about. I think we need a different color option! Maybe if enough of us chime in Shep will give us another option... |

It's hard to tell the actual color from the photos I took. I'll try to get some better pics and post them soon.
I had them refinished at Wheel Collision Center in Bath PA. Wheel Collision Center The color in their system is MA918.50 They were $150 each. |

I had the track tires mounted on them today. They are very dark. Probably darker than I would have liked. They look black until the light hits them. Anyway, here are a couple of pics.

Is British Black/Gunmetal that dark? That looks almost black. I'm having a hard time deciding between Anthracite and Gunmetal for the RAC GB.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

The rears are 285/30-18 on 10.5 et25 and are a bit on the short side. I wish the PSCs were available in 285/35. I have a total of 4 fronts and 5 rears. 4 of my rears are cracked to some degree. I'm going to sell a set with the last good one and best cracked one within a few weeks pretty cheap. I've run on these things cracked for several years and have never lost any pressure (the cracks are in the edge of the wheels not in the structure). When they're ready, I'll post pictures (BBS silver). The price will be $3k. 16.8 pounds front and 17.8 pounds rear |
