I think the general consensus is that this knocking can occur after an oil change and should reduce over time and generally harmless. FWIW, my 2010 e90 also does this at 84k with BE bearings. I had an oil change recently with Redline 5W-50 and have the same knocking sound once the car is at operating temperature.
