I'm trying to identify that car. Clearly not a VW (my first guess)... A Volvo, perhaps (but the seats are wrong for Volvo)?

After consulting his other pictures, it looks like your first guess was right. It is a VW Golf Mk1. The steering wheel appears to be from an old Nardi-Danese

But the right side of the dash and instrumentation differ from that of a Golf Mk 1, hence my confusion. The Golf has no gauges between the tach and speedo.

It's an 80's VW Cabriolet with an aftermarket steering wheel...I think.
