Mod Bug bites HARD

ok so this is a bit of a tease (also theres not much to take pics of) but the order has gone in so i thought i would fill the group in on my order with Dave at Motor Works West (aka BMW/Dinan heaven in the NYC area)

1) 3.62 Diff
2) Carbon Fiber InTake
3) Under Drive Pulley Kit
4) Performance Engine Software

and because theres a whopping 15% off the suspension and handling

5) Monoball for Lower Control Arm
6) Racing Rear Toe Links

obviously i'm on tilt so would love to hear comments or suggestions about adding/subtracting anything from this list.

think i have enough for the badge?

can't wait!

take off carbon fiber intake and just swap filter. Unless you're getting it for looks, its been discussed to death that OEM makes a very good intake and all you need is a filter swap.

2nd. Ditch the intake. I am using AA green filter. Nice engine growl.

The MONOBALL kit will be some of the best money and diff that you could ever put towards the car. Good choices on those two.

Carbon struts are a good choice as well.

You are off to the right start. Until u realize and get bored of the power.

Depends on what you have cosmetics as well. Performance steering wheel is always great. Just installed mine yesterday and love it.

15% off suspension, do you have EDC? I did the KW sleeve over kit, looks great, handles exponentially better...and I know it's less expensive than the Dinan one. I think when I looked at it, it was in the $1500 ballpark. The KW was $700. I'm not a mechanic and didn't Google what the Diff will provide, but something like the AA ECU tune and exhaust will place a smile on your face everytime you drive it.

Garage List
2009 E90 M3  [6.50]
Great list!
The intake does add a little power over just a filter, but definitely not night and day. I just upgraded mine and I'm happy with the Dinan intake. Looks great and the fit and finish is spot on. The sound is much better than just a filter as well.

Are you stock right now? Decide what your goals are and do things right the first time. Smiles on the street, occasional track days, competitive lapping etc?

Ditch the carbon intake, its cute but a waste of $$.

If you think you need more power, pulleys and primary cat deletes (test pipes) will open things up a bit. A tune should be done last, this way you get things dialed in once. Some tunes are worthless so choose wisely.

Good brake fluid and pads is always a good place to start as well.

im in the occasional track day + smiles on the street type camp. not looking to competitively race my car, theres too much golfing to be done. as for the question someone asked re diff, supposed to increase torque by about 14% which sounds like the best bang for your buck torque increase you can do. i wont be doing the cat deletes because i think the noise involved will just be too much. and the dinan tune will be part of the total package.

drop it with KW sleeves and space it with 15mm rears and 18 mm fronts .
Delete primary cats, get a catback or oem exhaust mod and tune .

Floor it .

Thinking of going with the stage 1 suspension too. No cat deletes as the performance gains are no offset for obnoxious sound. But considering perf exhaust as well.

Wait what?! At the last sentence. Perf of cat delete not worth it because of the sound but considering a nearly 4k axleback (albeit lighter)?!

Perf mods are a waste of money if you arent gonna use them. If you want a head turner i would just drop and get some of the nicest rims you can by. You dont want to be the guy at the track who has a tune, a diff, kws and causing traffic. I dont understand those ppl. :

Funny because i just sold my 710 ap2's to pursue more motorsports. Lol. I do still have my mizzie mp68's though. Butter!!

The sound is based on the exhaust and x-pipe you have. Had you said smell then I would say ok.......but if you haven't heard a exhaust with the proper tune and set up you are missing the mark with this statement. This is truly the best mod for power (without going SC) and great sound..............Phil
