A few E36's and E46's leading up to my Dakar Yellow E92 Journal
My car has a relatively short modification list compared to the cars on here, but it's a rare color so i figured I'd put a journal up. Some of my other M's-
Started with a Boston Green M3/4/5 My first M3, sold it to a family member and went looking for an Estoril Blue coupe. I came across a Technoviolet I knew I could drive for a little while and get my money back on it, so I did. So I sold that and kept looking for an Estoril Blue E36. I came across a 98 coupe in Arctic Silver, which I wasn't really a fan of. The car was too clean and nicely modified to pass up though. It had most of what I had planned already done, M50 manifold and intake, AA exhaust, coilovers, and a fresh cooling system. So despite being the wrong color, everything else was right and I wanted to hang on to it. Without getting into my life story, my next car kind of requires an explanation. I also owned a Yamaha R1 at the time and was involved in an accident on the way home from work. The usual "I didn't see him" and an old man in an suv took me out 3 blocks from my job. Woke up in the hospital paralyzed from the chest down and no longer able to pilot a manual transmission. So the E36 went up for sale and life goes on. This 330ci E46 kind of falls in my lap, it was owned by a friend who had also been involved in a motorcycle accident years early and was already fitted with hand controls. So I drove that for a few months, got the hang of the hand controls. I did the intake and purchased a suspension for it when I realized I'd be better off getting an M3 and going from there. Sold the 330 to my uncle and picked up an 04 Imola Red coupe. The R1 pre Nissan Murano Makeover Afterwards, cracked frame in multiple spots, front rim pushed back into the headers. I wouldn't try and discourage anyone from riding though. I absolutely loved my bikes and would probably get back on one when they finally cure spinal cord injuries. I just as easily could have been run over by the same inattentive driver while crossing the street on my way to the bus. Just make sure you gear up. The impact may have left me in a wheelchair, but i actually didn't have a scratch on me. It sucks enough being in a wheelchair without wearing your as$ skin on your elbow. Bone stock when I picked it up My 04 Imola Red m3 with my former 330ci and former former E36 M3 sedan. Track Day ZCP rims Temporary hand controls on the M Loved the E46 M3, definitely one of the best cars BMW ever made. But I wanted to make the move to the E92. I knew a few people who had them an wanted an individual though. A lazy sales person lied to me about the colors available and discouraged, I just leased a 328i F30. I messed around with the suspension and tune but at the end of the day it wasn't an M and not what I wanted. I managed to get out of the lease a little early but the E92 had just gone out of production. I was able to find one that was spec'd out exactly how I would have ordered it sitting in a showroom in Illinois. I guess they backed out when they saw it in person De-badged on day one, Meisterschaft Gt exhaust on day 3 Little things CF wing Track tires -Square 275/18 Apex Arc-8 with Bridgestone Potenza Re-11 Before/After Modification List- Macht Schnell Intake Meisterschaft GT Exhaust with Dinan Midpipe and Tune CF Splitters CF Mirror Caps Painted in the M5 scheme CF Spoiler CF Rear Diffuser Black Grills,Gills, Hood Vents Painted reflectors 90mm Studs with 15mm spacers in the front 12mm in the rear 30% Tint Debadged Blacked out headlights by OneEightyNYC Even makes a decent daily driver with the right tires I did a wrap for a temporary change, its 3m Brand Gloss Sky blue. Not too much done on the interior, just the M performance wheel. All that crap under the steering wheel is hand controls, I was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. Push for brakes, pull for gas. Works pretty good for paint protection at the track too. I took a few chunks of tire to the nose and everything wiped right off. Took a few more with the stock wheels back on.

Like the car journal......love your story! A true enthusiast for sure. As a former Ryder, I've seen many go down and not have half the attitude about it you had/have. Kudos to you. And just for the record, I had the Estoril E36 you chased.....last model year.....1999 hard loaded with almost all the Dinan bolt ons available .............Phil

One of the better threads I've read recently. Love all the cars you had, but the e92 takes the cake. Beautiful rides!

That's a lot of M greatness!
Awesome story, I love that it hasn't hindered your love for cars. I ride as well, its scary to see that this can actually happen at any second to ANY of us. Glad you're alive, even though your life looks like it has significantly changed. Not typically a yellow fan, but yours looks phenomenal. Your attention to detail is beautiful, even painting the lettering on your winters.

Alwways wanted to know whats louder tho piece for piece. OEM x pipe with test pipes or the quad resonated Dinan. Im going to guess with pretty good certainty that OEM With TPs is not as loud Thoughts?

I recall seeing your imola e46 on m3forum a little while ago, beautiful car. I just sold mine. Your Dakar e92 is really nice. Looks like you've had your share of some of the best colors BMW has offered.. techno violet, imola, dakar. Surprised you didn't get the f30 in estroil when you had it. I love paint colors yet I had a jet black e46 and now an alpine white f80 lol.. Oh well maybe I will do individual eventually.

Beautiful and Badass (realising the oxymoron). I had the Phoenix Yellow E46 M3 Individual but always loved The Dakar. There's a milky creamy-ness and depth to the colour. The black shoes and carbon fibre give it that sassiness. Are you minded to tinker with the suspension and lower it a tad more as I reckon I'd crap my nappy if I saw you coming up behind me on the open road

Cool thread and inspiring story.... i have very similar taste in cars. I wanted a dakar e92 so bad but it was almost impossible to find a used one. I settled on a very clean silverstone M and don't really regret it to much.
I recognize all those photo locations!

And amazing story for frickin sure ! Wow, you are a huge inspiration to just keep going no matter what. To be honest I'm a bit choked up how you just kept going and didn't let anything stop you. Reading stuff like that me thinks I should have a better attitude about all the stupid stuff we all deal with. Such cool, cool story about ///M too, huge respect sir

Looks good! But let me get this straight, you guys can order a car, have it arrive at the dealer, and if you don't like it, you can just walk away?
