Length of E90 M3 Vs. E90 335i

Does anyone know why the M3 sedan is 2 inches longer than the 335 sedan? I was under the impression they were identical.

Longer front and rear overhangs, and exhaust, would be my guess.

I believe its the front end... I park next to a E90 335 almost every day, I'll take another look

These numbers apply to the 2009 E90.
The M3 is 1.7" longer in the front and 0.4" longer in the rear
