I will reserve judgement until I see both kits completed with details. The VF kits for th E46 M3 are a bit better than the AA kits, IMO. |

For the S54 it was roughly 20-25WHP per 1 psi, I would think the S65 would make 30WHP per 1 psi, so 7psi would yield approx 210 additional WHP, add race gas that will probably go up another 40WHP.

the comparison was more for the sake of, bolt ons like i/e/chip vs. adding FI having said that, clearly if you add FI to a beast of an engine like the M3 has, the results are special The argument was more along the lines of, on a 335i (an already boosted car), gains can be had with much less funding/modification. That doesnt take anything away from the M3, just a comparison as far as dollar per added power

Vudoo4u2-
Who cares about dollar for dollar power? If anyone here really wanted dollar for dollar power they could've bought a small block chevy, done some work to it and blown every BMW away on a drag strip. AutoTalent- Do you have anymore details why professional installation is suggested?

+1 and I was thinking about giving the lady the 335 and buying myself a 135. I might have to take a second look at those M3's

but theres no question a 335 can have higher power numbers with less serious modding...bolt ons and a chip are very minor mods to be putting down the numbers 335's have been getting... that being said, the m3 is faster to start, and will only be that much faster with a FI application I was only saying that the comment referring to "M3's not being able to be tuned" was never a fair statement, certainly they can be, but it takes a bit more effort/serious mods to get to the ridiculous power gains... which doesnt fault the m3, its just a fact of tuning NA cars vs FI cars still would want an M3 for its balance, and if you tack on the FI its crazy fast...but without the FI, it takes a lot of effort to get 100HP gains

There are far cheaper / better cars for power modding than the 335. A neon SRT-4 can spank the thing quite easily, takes a lot more effort to get the same amount of power from a 335. So what? What is this need for stating the obvious? That forced induction cars can make cheap gains? Why aren't we all in supras? |

Agreed. That's why I laugh at most of the people on here spending thousands of dollars on aftermarket bolt on stuff thinking their car is going to be any faster. If you want to make this car fast you need this kit from AA or an engine rebuild such as the stroker kit by RDSport.

You don't NEED a supercharger to improve the car's performance. You just NEED to know what you are doing and where you are spending your money. I have not spent much on performance mods yet, and I have proof the car is significantly faster, not just my opinion. |
