I'm just a little confused!
The E92 M3 Coupe CRT is already availiable as an 2012 calender year car? Like the E90 M3 CRT cars like this should be an limited and last edition of the E92 ... produced as last cars of the production line. Could that meen, that the E92 M3 production ends already this year, in an very short 2013 product year ??? This (production ends 2012!) was also posted in this forum earlier. Greets Uli_HH |

No, a 4-door coupe will be called a Gran Coupe, just as with the 4-doors 6-series for which there have been many spy-shots already. So you'll have a 3 series, which is a sedan (obviously with 4-doors). Next to that, you'll have a 4 series coupe (2 doors) and a 4 series gran coupe (4 doors). At least, that's what I understand. Audi is doing the same. A4, A6 and A8= sedan (= 3 series, 5 series, 7 series) A5 and A7 = coupe (= 4 series and 6 series) A5 sportback and A7 sportback = coupe with 4 doors (= 4 series gran and 6 series gran coupe) |

3 = sedan, touring, Grand Touring (GT) 4 = coupe, cabriolet, Gran Coupe It's just like the 5/6 lineup. And of course, there are also the respective M versions, which as we know will not be offered in all six possible body styles. No M GTs (at least not this generation), and probably no M tourings either (this generation - unless they surprise us with an M3 touring ). Well, that is, for proper M vehicles. We may very well see "M Performance" offerings accross the board. Oh, and as Jason said, this naming change is all still preliminary and unconfirmed. But as I said in another recent post, with this many models on offer, a breakup of the products into differently model groups seems likely. (I've found myself echoing this a lot lately, so if you've read other posts of mine, forgive me for being repetitive.) |

IMHO M3 "CSL" will show up in spring 2013, with 2013 being the final calendar year that will see E92/E93 production. We should see internal documents showing both SOP, and crucially, EOP months for MY2013 M3 production (and just about all other BMW products for that matter) in just three of four months. If I had to guess, I would say MY2013 E92/E92 3 series will go 12 months or so, and E92/E93 M3 perhaps a couple less.

BMW will have also a 2 series coupe, so the 4 series naming makes sense.
We will have also X4, another proof for this changing. For sure BMW wants a little bit from the E Class Coupe market too |

Let's get our 3's, 4's and M's straight here...
3-Series... 1) Sedan, 4-door (F30) (with Li option in Asia) 2) Wagon, 5-door (F31) 3) Grand Turismo, 5-door hatchback (similar to the controversial 5-Series GT) 4-Series... 1) 2-door Coupe (F32) 2) 2-door Cabrio, hardtop convertible (F33) 3) 4-door Gran Coupe (picture below) M3... - 4-door Sedan (F80) - 5-door Wagon (F81) (Most likely never to reach the U.S.) M4 - 2-door Coupe (F82) - 2-door Convertible (F83) It is highly unlikely that the M-Division would go so far as to make a M4 Gran Coupe with 4-doors. .

Odds Sedans. Evens Coupes including 4-door Coupes. So then they'll have sporty 2-door and 4-door M4's, leaving the legendary icon of the M3 in the dust as the chubby 4-door step-child. Somebody stop these people! .

Scott has more or less confirmed one (as much as Scott confirms anything). Initially, BMW was toying with the idea of introducing an F80 GT M3, but seems to be opting for an F82 GC M4 instead.

Negative. Scott has also said that all parts will be VIN-locked. I wholeheartedly disagree with this decision, as BMW is leaving loads of money on the table for tuners to pick up. As I mentioned in another thread, Porsche doesn't VIN-lock parts from their high end cars, and you don't see Porsche owners crying about lack of exclusivity on rennlist or 6speedonline.
