Given that S6 decreases clutch slip times, the argument can be made that it's better on your transmission (it's certainly better on your clutches) than the slower modes. Does it wear out the drivetrain faster? Maybe, but doubtful. Does it wear out the tires faster? Absolutely.

Some of the above has to be true- however I am sure BMW built these cars to handle it. I agree that launch control can not be good for the drivetrain.
You have to love the tire chirping shifts though!!! |

I believe some info in here is wrong. The faster and harder a transmission shifts, the less wear it puts on it. The longer its engaging, the more heat and "partial" friction, wearing down the material at a faster rate.
