Finally Home From ED with "Individual Option" GTS Wheels

Finally!!! It's home with the black GTS wheels that were a part of the Individual package. It's a world premier for these wheels I think, excepting for the pre-production GTS's that have been running around recently.

Everyone's seen my ED thread so I won't bore you with too many pics. Just wanted to highlight the GTS-spec black wheels that BMW agreed to include with my order. They weren't on the car when I picked it up at The Welt back in May because they hadn't gone into production yet. M Div assured me they'd ship me a set, shod with tires, as soon as they were ready....sometime in June they said. Sure enough, they came through and were shipped to Canada last week just in time for my re-delivery yesterday.

Apologies for the crappy photos....I just can't seem to capture the look of the black wheels properly. But you'll get the idea. The finish is similar to the very low gloss sheen on BMW's frozen colors. I'm very impressed with them and they're the finishing touch IMO. I was worried that the semi-matte finish wouldn't compliment all of the glossy black chrome on the car but they do.

So that's it. Drove over hell's half acre yesterday to get reaquainted. All was well and she's ready to get down and dirty 'cause the trauma of worrying about the first spec of road grunge, bird crap or swirl marks was over long ago in Europe. Man have I ever changed!!!

"GTS" vs. "ZCP"

Looks nice Mark. Congrats on getting her back home.

Does anyone know:
Other than the colour, are the specs on this wheel any different than those offered with ZCP?

Question: Aren't you supposed to fit wider rubber than 245/265 on those wheels? Are those GTS wheels identical to the ZCP's (1/2" wider, or 9 and 10") except the color? Thought GTS wheels were 1" wider, rather than 1/2", but maybe I'm wrong. Either way, stock tires are too stretched even on ZCP wheels IMO. And finally, are they forged, or also cast, like the ZCPs? I personally wouldn't pay anything extra for heavier wheels, but that's just me. Looks great though.

Those are OEM locks man.

I couldn't tell from the picture. Those are the old style OEM locks.

This is the enhanced security version.

WOWOW!

Mark you've convinced me to powder-coat my ZCP rims, I love the look of the black rim. Tracks wheels are satin black, I may go with a similar color.

Thanks for sharing and congrats!

The GTS wheels are exactly the same as the ZCP wheels, other than the finish.

Mark, I know it's easier said than done, but I would highly recommend up sizing your tires. I got 255f and 275r for my ZCP 359M and RG63 wheels, both of which are the same exact size as your GTS wheels.

The actual M3 GTS has even wider tires on the rear (285 I think).
