Seatbelt Butler Fix
Sorry if everyone already knows this or if this was discussed before...
I found a simple fix for the seatbelt butler. I searched the internet and there seems to be two main issues why the seatbelt butler doesn't work. One being the problem with the end part of the extender arm itself (where it still folds back even when fully extended). If this is the case obviously you'll need to get a new extender arm. However if this is not the case, in most cases, i see others ironing the seat belt as they state it's due to the seatbelt having creases.. I found this is not the case as mine has folds and creases as well. The issue seems to be the bottom part where the seatbelt is attached to the metal rod on the floor. When the seatbelt slides back towards the rear seats, then the extender arm, when activated, doesn't catch the seatbelts. Now try sliding the seatbelt (bottom part which is attached to the slide rod on the floor) towards the front seats. You'll realise the butler extender arm now catches the seatbelts no problem...doesn't matter if seatbelts have creases or folds...still catches.. To fix this, there is a rubber gromet/plug at the end of this slide met rod (where the rod meets the rear seats). Pull this out and slide the rubber plug against the seatbelt fully towards the front seats so that the seatbelts do not slide back. By doing this, the bottom part of the seatbelts will not slide back towards the rear seats anymore and will remain fixed towards the front seats. Butler catches the belt each and everytime..  Hope i'm making sense...and thought I'd share this little fix. Sorry if this was already mentioned before..

Yeah, the dealer installed factory grommets on mine when I complained about the butlers, but they are only about two inches long so the belts ride somewhere in the middle of the metal slide rod. This improved, but did not cure the issue. Might try your suggested fix. Passenger access to the rear seats may be affected(?), but for me that's mostly a don't-care.

Whenever I had passengers in the rear, there was a decent chance they would kick those things off the floormount rod.

Mike Benvo coded my seat belt butlers to inactive. I quickly became accustomed to reaching back to grab them. Grand kids in the back seat no longer get cautioned about not touching.

Just tried it but didn't work. I have a flimsy belt and I can see it folding in the middle vertically after catching g then give it promptly. I think the starch and ironing will work though.
