359M vs. 220M
hello all. i am going to purchase a 2011 M3 coupe this or next week. originally was going for 220M's and EDC a la carte. I know enhanced EDC is bundled with ZCP, but, not a big fan of the wheels. Any thoughts? Which are better wheels? Which look better on an alpine white coupe? Forged vs cast?? Any opinions would be a huge help.
Also, is ZCP overall worth it. For me, it would only be $250 more than standalone 220M plus EDC....just not sure about the wheels?? Thank you |

I like the look of the 220M's a lot better. Plus they're forged and lighter. Different strokes for different folks though. The competition wheels look great too. Can't go wrong with either.

ZCP Wheels look MUCH better in real-life than on paper, but I slightly prefer the 220M's. I truly think that the casting method used by BBS vs. forged is an absolute non event. Compare esthetic preference long before worrying about construction. If I could order my car over again (2010, Oct delivery) I would get ZCP regardless.

maybe figure at some point i'm gonna get new wheels regardless....now, comes down to whether all the other options that come with ZCP are worth it? lowered suspension, enhanced EDC, DSC, software upgrades, etc. What do you guys think? have you compared the two? Can you notice lowered susp? Do wider wheels make that much difference?

Instead of ZCP, I went with Dinan stage I and RAC wheels with larger PS2s. Only about $5k more expensive than the ZCP. Is this set-up $5k better than ZCP? If the car is a keeper, yes. If I turn it in off of lease, no. We'll know in two years.

I thought the 359's were only "meh" in the pics I saw before they came out but in person they look much better IMO. The additional 0.5" is a nice plus too, but you really do need extra rubber as the stock sizes don't cut it. In the end though, I prefer my 220's simply because less brake dust shows up on them.

They only come in the standard finish silver currently, but they may be available in the semi-gloss black finish that come equipped on the M3 GTS towards the end of the year (likely for a premium).
