That's not too bad sounds about the same as a dealer clutch replacement for a 6MT car.

I put a VF-Engineering 620 hp SC on my car and the clutch is slipping at moderate loads.

Talked to SSP Performance about their clutch packs but of 30+ sold worldwide ony 6-10 were sold in N. America. Haven't been able to find anyone that has actually installed one and have it in service. Two members of this forum have installed them. One took it back out and had the DCT replaced and the other's car is still not running.

SSP wants $2600 for the clutch packs and they estimated about a $1000 for the install. Also add new oil to that number. My SA quoted me $3800 for the clutch assembly installed plus another $1700 if the flywheel needed replacement.

I'm hoping to get my car back today with new clutch package. Lost gears 1,3,5,7 month ago which is one of the clutches. They can't just replace that one so both getting replaced. So far for this repair I'm sitting at $5200 (CAN).

Yikes! Can we assume that for that price they will go through the rest of the DCT while it's apart and make sure everything else is OK?

For a follow up to my issue, the clutch slipping I encountered was due to the ECU not talking well with the DCT computer due to the SC programming. The issue was that since my car is full track prepared and so many modules were removed the ECU couldn't handle changes to the software. VF tried hard to solve the problem, even enlisting a programming expert in Germany, but in the end the only real cure for me was removing the SC. Did that last December and the DCT has run flawlessly this year.

Yeah, my clutch went in last Tuesday and they can't get software to accept it. They have now launched a puma case to figure it out but it's annoying since it's almost been an extra week just for software issue.

$5200 seems a bit excessive for just replacement of clutches. Of course everything in Canada costs more but that price is a little disappointing.

My SA in the US quoted $3800 for the clutches installed and $1700 more if the flywheel needed replacement. So $5200 CDN is a bit high for just the clutches.
