I've taken a (slow) lap at CoTA...anyone claiming a hot lap is BSing. They just finished laying the asphalt, construction is still ongoing. Trucks, cranes, etc. everywhere.

Can't wait to get the M around it, though. Next year some time, I guess.
That explains it. Thanks...I was getting excited!

^ Driver's Edge says they're looking into it, but so is everyone else, and CotA isn't offering any details like pricing or availability yet. They're (understandably) more focused on F1, MotoGP, Australian V8, and possibly ALMS at the moment, not to mention finishing the track itself. Still, Driver's Edge is a big HPDE player, so if anyone can get an event there, it'll be them -- which is great since they're such a good group. It'll be nice having a big track less than 100 miles from home (H2R is too small for big HPDEs.)

Speaking of which though, looking forward to Driver's Edge @ TWS clockwise next month! I've never run that direction before so that should be fun.

I think the first year will be very pricey but I have time so I can wait. Rick has occasionally mentioned it. I think he purposely doesn't bring it up because everyone would drive him even nuttier. The one thing I do wish for is Rick bringing back that night solo event at Texas Motor Speedway. How cool was that!

I should be there for Oct unless something comes up. See you there!

So what's the schedule for late October/November looking like? After 6 weeks travelling overseas for work, I am going to need me some damn track action!!

There is a Lone Star BMW CCA DE at MSR Cresson Oct 20-21. It will be CW one day CCW the other (1.7 mile course).

There will be extra incentive to have done a Lone Star BMW CCA DE in the past couple years for an event next year. Announcement hopefully shortly (not all the i's are dotted or t's crossed....yet).

I'd consider making a drive up for one day. I haven't driven MSR Cresson since I was in college.

I just did a TWS Open Track Day...WOW!

They run 55 minutes out of the hour. You show up, garages are first come, first serve. Unload your car, x2 check the direction and go until you get fuel starvation!

This is the best seat time/dollar event I can think of.

Sounds like you got your car all sorted out.

How many cars were there?

My next track day won't be until December...sniff sniff

Hopefully! It was a bunch of PCA guys there...maybe 20 cars with about 10 on the track at any one time?

I will say the PCA guys are uber courteous. You ALWAYS get mirror taps and prompt point bys...none of this following the same car for laps at a time.
