Telsa Model 3
I am officially insane. I am putting my deposit in for the Model 3 and selling the M3. I know, the Model 3 is no where close to being a competitor, but the price and the current Kalifornistan and San Francisco commune that I live in supports it well enough for me make it a decent financial decision. (Buying new cars are never a good financial decision)
Alright, let me have it.

Good Decision: Buying the Model III
Bad Decision: Replacing the M3 Overall: I think you'll regret it, and you'll be wanting something special in your garage again, at the very least as a weekend car. |

I don't think the Model 3 can replace the M3. Even the Model S can't replace the M3 in my book. I need to have something with feeling and the ability to take the car to the track and have fun.
The Teslas all overheat on track and can't do more than 1 lap. Also, they are overweight, lack an LSD and overall grip. The only thing it can do is blast on ramps for highways with ease. Not my idea of "fun". As a daily driver, it's a great car but the Tesla is not a performance car.

I have two cars, one in the garage and the other outside. I'm single so that helps...

Model 3 for daily and m3 for a weekend car. Honestly that's a great garage. That's what I planning on getting after my lease is up with Bmw.

$35k MSRP, $28k after rebates. 200 mile range, probably Toyota Avalon slow and feels like turning a X5 in a Corolla body.
MrPrena has some experience driving an Avalon on 4000 lb gross vehicle weight with the fat hookers he carry in the trunk

Maybe it's time for a change? Makes sense considering your situation. It seems like everyone on here either has a 10 car garage, boatloads of cash, or doesn't ever have a commute.
Selling an M3 for a more practical ride isn't the end of the world! I'm sure it will still be nice, but who the eff really cares about your 0-60 time or HP/torque numbers when you're sitting in traffic trying after a long day at work? Just sayin... |

or move to a house with a 3 car garage. Here in Bay Area, that would require you buying a house costing at least $2 million.
Hmm to Oaktown or not to Oaktown, that's the question: http://www.sfgate.com/realestate/wal...es-6824695.php

Just need to make sure I'm doing my build sheet correctly, b/c once deposit is down and you get a production date, you're in it for the long haul. Also, what's your view on doing a Euro (Russia) Delivery? Or should I elect state-side Performance Center (Sex Club) Delivery?

I loath them. And think the SUV thing is horrific too. A mix of a Aztec and a old RX300. Zero appeal. I leave them for the seaweed eating vegans who think they did something for the environment while really boosting their egos.
As an aside, back in 1915 electric cars were as common as petrol. About a 50/50 split. |

How are you going to fit hookers in your trunk and still achieve the 200 mile range? I think this is an atrocious idea.
