I've tried my best.

Speaking should be banned, bad spelling and calling a non ball shape a ball I can live with.
Haha. The pf combination in German is funny to say. Pferdestärke!

I imagine that's what it sounds like when 1MOREMOD gets home from work and Mrs.Mod asks how is day was.

Get back to me when there's a decent translator for for Cockney rhyming slang. I get it when so,some tells me what it means - the phonetic similarities. But if I don't already know it, I'm never figuring it out. Even the Star Trek translator would be stumped, I'm sure.

German is a beautiful and simple language compared to some. Our men back here probably don't speak because the language sounds so bad.

That gives me hope. Maybe my boy will be as nice all grown up as Moddie is.

Now you guys pronounce aloud: Scheveningen (town by the sea near The Hague, NL)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scheveningen

Many Dutchies try out foreigners by asking them to say it for a laugh.

Cheers
Robin

I'm a big Monty Python/Young Ones/Bottom/Blackadder fan, this is something else I know, but it was a big hit in the 80s here in Holland (and UK?)

My Dutch mom trained me on that one. My dutch grandparents trained me on how to bicker with your spouse in Dutch.

With you on this one! The Brits have the best sense of humor. I would add Fawlty Towers to the list as well.

ok time to settle this

"Aluminium or aluminum (in North American English)"
-wikipedia

So if your a yank, it's "inum" ROW it's "nium"

There's no such thing as American English, Canadian English, or any other kind of English, the clue is in the name - English, from England.

NOW, you can call anything you like anything,or spell it or say it.
But don't mean dat ting is correct
