I have a feeling it is more that just "stripped out." The glossiness of the paint is making me think we're talking all carbon fiber paneling. Now THAT, would be a lightweight car.

Great and you have that choice to buy one as you always do. Some of us like the idea of a 4 door M3. I don't get this hate of the 4 door with some people. On top of that, an M5 costs more and is bigger than some people need their car to be. I could've bought an AMG C63 or an IS-F, but I wanted to buy the best 4 door sports saloon and this is it.

Is it just me or do the brakes look like something you would buy on eBay? That decal/emblem cheapens them.
That front splitter in interesting and the rear spoiler just looks like a non-carbon fiber spoiler. Why would they not put the BMW Performance Exhaust on the car? The looks of the standard OEM exhaust is a major fail. I also think black wheels are played out. With all that being said I do like the fact they chose the E90. I too don't understand the negativity towards the E90. I don't hate the E92 or E93 just because I bought the E90. IMO the E90 looks better (it is wider than the coupe - that is a fact), can seat 5 people, has the convenience of 4-doors, allows me to have a car I can work with and play with, all while having the same performance of the E92. What's not to love?

Looks are subjective but to me the coupe looks INFINITELY better than the sedan. I don't have kids but I do appreciate the convenience of a sedan. I got the moonroof too. But the coupe just looks so much better, it was a no brainer. E90 is for dads who need to carry their kids around, period. Coupe FTW!

Well that's what an M3 is for...regardless of # of doors. If you want sports car, get a 911.

This looks awesome. I wonder if they'll go with the DCT?

1 Some people just like the aggressive look of the E90 and don't even use the backseat.

Some observations:
1) Windows tinted probably means a stripped-out interior. 2) The car is sitting lower, and it looks like there's more camber on those wheels than stock. 3) Is it wearing spacers? It almost looks like it has a bulldog stance, but that could simply be an illusion. 4) No M Performance exhaust is mind-boggling. If this is a lightweight car, then why not shave off 25 pounds by swapping out the stock exhaust? 5) Trunk spoiler looks like the standard BMW Performance Mk. II CF spoiler for the E90, sans the carbon fiber. 6) Front lip spoiler is interesting. 7) Front grilles and side gills in black, probably off of the M3 Edition. 8) Calipers look OK, not great. 9) Studs on the wheels instead of stock black bolts. Again, spacers? 10) Crazy orange peel on the paint job. Maybe because of CF panels, as someone else mentioned?

Between the M3 and the GTS? Really?? The GTS is a joke. If this thing is honestly supposed to be anything like a reincarnation of the CSL, it should shit all over the GTS.

The "royal edition M3" has officially been revealed by BMW as an "April fool's joke" so I would not be surprised if this is an april fool's joke as well.
If it were true, I applaud the usage of the E90 sedan over the coupe since M3 sedan with a b-pillar would make a much more rigid chassis for a track-oriented M3. Plus the sedan has advantage of being 3 inches shorter and a bit wider. More lateral grip and less weight of the overhangs.

Im glad the E90 was used.
It looks more aggressive than the coupe. Honestly the E92 barely looks different from it's non-M counterpart because of the fact that the E92 non-M starts out as a sporty looking car already. The E90 on the street is much more menacing. |
