Anyone who isn't familiar with the OP should know he is meticulous with his cars... Seriously super clean and prime examples.
His E46 and B5 are still my top favorites as far as pure OEM/OEM+ conversions go. Knowing this and how the E46 makes you feel when you get behind the seat, as rare as Atlantis Metallic is, I'd depart with the E92. If one M3 has to go in place of the Pcar, that gets my vote. Also If you end up regretting your decision to part with one of your M3s, you're still in time to get back into another very clean E92 for the right price... Uber clean E46 examples such as yours are difficult to find nowadays, and come with a hefty premium. |

When I had my E92 M3, I sampled the 991.1 C2S as a possible replacement for my M3. I went away from the test drive hugely underwhelmed. It very much depends on what u like about the E92 M3. For me, the V8 was a no contest when compared to the flat 6 sewing machine in the C2S. The S65 not only sounds infinitely better, but also exhibits a much better torque curve. Handling wise is pretty straight forward. The C2S being much smaller and a purpose built sports car, definitely handles better. The trade off is that the C2S is also a lot less usable as a DD with minimal storage space and useless rear seats.
I would however, replace the E92 M3 with a 991.2 C2S. The new engine gives the car a much more usable torque curve and since the old engine never sounded good, it's no love lost. Make sure u spec the rear wheel steer as I personally feel that's the best thing about the new model! Overall, it's a good position to be in and happy shopping

The 991.1s is far superior as a sports car, but the m3 is more practical, looks great, sounds great and is a lot cheaper. If you can swing it, nothing like a 911 |

M3 = GT car 991 = Sports car On Rennlist 991 = GT car Cayman = Sports car It's funny how perspectives change around. (I had a Cayman and M3, now considering next car 991 vs 981) As for what M3 to keep, I vote the E46. It's older, therefore harder to replace in great condition. |

991.2 turbo motors are a game changer IMO. The non-turbo 911s always feel like they need 100 more torques for how much grip there is. But now you can finally have a humdrum base 911 2wd with enough torque to tax the rear tires coming off corners and it makes for a much more fun street car. I'd rather a base, 2wd 991.2 than just about any preceding generation including the turbos, sadly a bit out of my range still so I'm looking for a 996tt to tide me over until the 991's get cheaper

You're lucky to have both cars, it's a great combo! While I'd love to get a GT4 myself, it's way out of my league the more I think about it. Might look into an AP2 or a Z4MC.

I used to have an AP1 S2k. I loved it, but I never got comfortable with the handling at the limit. Plus I used it for DD duties to the tune of 90 miles per day and I grew tired of the noise.
The C2S was a blast to drive in europe... but only got to sample it for a week. Hopefully she shows up stateside in another month or two. It was obviously not as sporty as a GT4, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was to drive. I'll give more thoughts on it when I can get a few more tanks of gas through it, but for now, it looks like the E92 has been rendered obsolete in my fleet.

She is beautiful, can't say I don't miss my M3 dearly, the E9x generation IMHO is the best generation M3 ever built. Had my F80 for over a year, put 18k miles on it and it was fun but not like my E90.
With that said, a 911, I feel is an entirely different experience, I'm loving my 997.2 4S. The S65 sounds amazing, but the flat 6 dfi is a great sounding engine in its own right and is a very responsive motor, I am very impressed my by it, I'm sure the new turbo motors are great I'm gonna be going with other cars before I see myself stepping into a 991.2. |

Definitely with you with the noise part. I prefer the S65 music to *any* 911, the V8 just sounds way better. It is true the 991.2 finally gets some power which can be interesting. In a GTS .2 review I read Walter said the rear wheel steering is only useful in evasive maneuvers . |

Does anyone have experience with a fully track prepped E92 M3, as compared to a stock 911 GTS? Considering selling off the GTS, buying a stock E92 and dumping a bunch of money into it to make it a barely street legal track car. Will I be disappointed, coming from the GTS?
