Hmm at 9psi thats over 700 crank HP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 391 ftlbs too....damm....BUT 9 psi on a 12.0 CR stock motor is pushing an effective compression ratio of 19.34....too high for street gas.....since about 18 is the limit for street gas....

From experience with a number of tuners and my own FI cars, the numbers you are talking about are simply not possible without changing the internals.

He's quoting the numbers from the ESS kit, except at the crank instead of the wheels. So are you saying that the ESS kit at these power levels, is going to require changing internals?

No doubt that if you push that much psi you may generate major power everything else equal. However, I still think 9 psi is way too much boost for the stock engine. Other tuners such as GPower run no more than 4.85 psi on M engines particularly because of these issues. I don´t see what ESS invented that allows them to "reliably" go up to 9psi. But hey, if they can really do it with no problems, more power to them (literally haha), I personally feel they are really pushing the envelope and would not get it. Again, that´s just me.

Yes. This is what I am saying if you want to do it reliably.

G-Power changes the internals for their SC kit, I think I read somewhere that ESS's secret is in a new complex intake manifold.

Great idea I think!! How much did you save in weight? Is it much louder in the interior?

We don't have any numbers for the weightloss, but the car will be stripped for all interior, fueltank and sutch. Since it will be used as a race-/showcar, only seats, rollcage, fuelcell and the most needed will be mounted. Maybe we can give you the total weight of the car when it's finished.
On the photo: Carbon trunklid, soon to be fitted. |
