Hmm at 9psi thats over 700 crank HP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 391 ftlbs too....damm....BUT 9 psi on a 12.0 CR stock motor is pushing an effective compression ratio of 19.34....too high for street gas.....since about 18 is the limit for street gas....

From experience with a number of tuners and my own FI cars, the numbers you are talking about are simply not possible without changing the internals.

He's quoting the numbers from the ESS kit, except at the crank instead of the wheels. So are you saying that the ESS kit at these power levels, is going to require changing internals?

Ess already released a dyno of their kit on pump gas stock internals

Here is 9psi on pump gas stock internals

No doubt that if you push that much psi you may generate major power everything else equal. However, I still think 9 psi is way too much boost for the stock engine. Other tuners such as GPower run no more than 4.85 psi on M engines particularly because of these issues. I don´t see what ESS invented that allows them to "reliably" go up to 9psi. But hey, if they can really do it with no problems, more power to them (literally haha), I personally feel they are really pushing the envelope and would not get it. Again, that´s just me.

No I agree with you. But if theyre not getting any detonation then hey. They are doing durability testing for the next 6 months so we will find out. But look at e46 guys they are getting serious power out of those under significant boost levels. The great part about this motor is it's high reving abilities. Yea the motor has pretty high compression but the high revs help out. This motor can take 9lbs of boost safer than another 4.0l v8 that only revs to say 6k rpms.

Me too. This seems too be way too much. But apparently not I guess

Perhaps your right but I´m not betting on that yet. I suppose we will see.

Yes. This is what I am saying if you want to do it reliably.

G-Power changes the internals for their SC kit, I think I read somewhere that ESS's secret is in a new complex intake manifold.

The stripping of the M3 continues.....!

More power and a lighter M3 should be a good combination.... don't you think!!

Great idea I think!! How much did you save in weight? Is it much louder in the interior?

We don't have any numbers for the weightloss, but the car will be stripped for all interior, fueltank and sutch. Since it will be used as a race-/showcar, only seats, rollcage, fuelcell and the most needed will be mounted. Maybe we can give you the total weight of the car when it's finished.

On the photo: Carbon trunklid, soon to be fitted.

Total weight would be great for me.
