Daddy wants a Monte Carlo ZCP!

I just placed my order for a 2011 ZCP with the Palladium Silver/Black/Black two tone leather combo and M-DCT. I'm slotted for a week 39 build in late September with delivery in early November.

What I really want is Monte Carlo Blue, and am willing to pay the premium, so the request is into BMW NA for approval. Given the feedback in other threads, I'm not holding out much hope, but I had to try. Maybe with enough requests, BMW NA will approve. Wishful thinking?

As a fallback, I was torn between Lemans Blue and Space Gray. I loved the Lemans Blue on the E39 M5, but the Lemans Blue on the 3 series looks sufficiently different. After seeing a Space Gray 335i and 335is on the showroom floor, I was convinced and went with that choice instead.

I'm getting the carbon fiber spoiler as well, and flipping through the 2011 brochure, it appears that the carbon fiber splitters are actually functional. They supposedly allow the car's engine to breathe deeper. Who knew?

Chris

Congrats. Glad to soon see another E9X M3 in Seattle! If you're going to the M Car Day at Griot's Garage on Sunday, come introduce yourself!

Try not to think about the fact that you could have a car like this if only you lived 100 miles further north:

I think the OP will be quite thankful be does not paid Canadian pricing, however. Mark's M paid a mint for that car, and not just because he's in the Great White North, but because all that Individual attention is extremely expensive.

But, yes, that's the sickest OEM M3 on the globe, and its a shame the standard car does not get such treatment.

By the way, why so hard to get BMW NA to agree to MCB? Are they holding onto it for a future special edition color?

If Monte Carlo Blue is what you really want, don't settle for anything else.

Make sure you say, Monte Carlo or no deal. That'll get the SA working on it. And if they can't do it, you'll find someone else who can. There are some SA's on this board that specialize in special orders but I believe they are over in Cali.

Import one of the three or four MCB M3s (that have been posted on this forum, anyway) from Canada?

Mercedes Mistral Blue?

I have an update from the dealer today. It's an official No on Monte Carlo Blue, but they'll do Mistral Blue from Mercedes for $5K.

It's not as deep or lustrous - what do people think?

Any word on why?

I'm confused as how BMW would have a Mercedes color? That seems both strange and arbitrary.

What an interesting response. Lol. Would they use MB's nano-paint too?

The official BMW NA response: "Monte Carlo Blue is only available with the M3 Edition Model which is not offered in the US Market."

Well, duh.

Stuff like this makes me want to buy a paint-to-sample 911 in Monte Carlo Blue and then drive by BMW NA HQ, laughing. BMW's attitude about individual options is awful.
