ZCP on the Sedan (E90)
Okay so none of my 3 local dealers have a sedan w/ zcp in stock for me to check out. I'm curious what people who have seen the ZCP on the sedan in real life think about the wheels as far as how they fit with the sedan look.
I see the wheels on the coupe and say "yeah that looks hot" but when I see the zcp wheels on the sedan in pictures I feel like something is off a bit. Is there a consensus on this? I'm not trying to start another zcp v. 220s debate, but I've currently chosen the 220s and wish I could see the zcp wheels IRL to see if they look better than in photos on the sedan. So, anyone who's seen the ZCP on the sedan with your own eyes. Do the wheels fit the look or do they work better on the coupe? thanks! by the way, I've ordered a space grey e90 ... so if you have opinions on the ZCP w/ the space gray sedan I'd like to hear them. edit: after thinking about it, I suppose this shouldn't be in the photos section as I'm really asking about IRL. Mods please move if you wish to an appropriate forum ...

I've seen several ZCP E90s IRL and I think they look great. I agree that the ZCP wheels do more for the E92/3 as you mentioned but they look great on the sedan also. IMO you can't make a bad choice...it just comes down to personal preference.
One thing I love about the 220Ms (which are on my car) is that they have that cleared/polished finish on the face as compared to the painted finish on the ZCP wheels. Based on my experiences with previous silver painted BMW OEM wheels, that silver chips easily. My 220Ms are 15 months old and they look perfect...not any visible chip, scratch or anything. The OEM 214 20s on my X5 had several chips within just a few months of daily driving, and the 362 18s on my old 330i had numerous chips after 3 years. As for the space gray, I love gray cars but space gray has never been my favorite. I would like it more if it was a bit darker and didn't have that slight pinkish hue to it in direct sunlight. But it's a good color and it does look good on the E90. I wouldn't hesitate to get it. EDIT: I noticed that you seem to be asking about ZCP (specifically) with space gray. With that color, I think either wheel would look great. One of the ZCP E90s I saw IRL was space gray and it looked great. But the 220s look awesome with it also. Hope that helps!

I don't know if you've seen this thread but I think you should: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=369912 Not only is it about a Space Gray E90 ZCP, there are also some comparo pics of ZCP and 220s side by side. FWIW - I've got a Le Mans Blue E90 ZCP on order. So I may be biased but my vote would be for the ZCP. Done and done. |

ZCP sedans are gorgeous. When the ZCP option was first offered, someone posted a pic of two E90 ZCPs at the Welt (an Alpine White and a Jet or Jerez Black), and they were simply stunning.
Buy with confidence.

I hope Space Gray & ZCP looks good on the E90 or I'm going to be very disappointed when my car arrives in February.

Love 'em! Wouldn't have it any other way.
The 1/2" extra width will come in handy when I need new tires and they look great. This BBS invented style just happens to be my all-time favorite. BTW: I have no complaint or agenda against the forged 220M 19s. I like those very much as well and I'm jealous that they are forged.

ah man. I had pretty much decided to stick w/ the 220Ms but some of these cars do look pretty good. Also, I like the idea of a slight drop w/o having to go aftermarket.
I've got some thinking to do. Fortunately my car isn't being made til mid-February (or sadly) so I've got some time. Sounds like the general consensus is that pics don't do justice to the rims (but these pics look really good too ... just saying people seem to think they look even better IRL) ... I'm going to keep searching for some IRL examples. thanks for the feedback

I bought my car in '09 before ZCP was an option so I got the 220 wheels. They were ok but I really love the ZCP wheels I just bought.
If you get them go with spacers though ... I am running 15 F and 12.5 R.

^^Wow, she actually used to look pretty good...
OP, you can't make a bad choice. I will add is that I agree with the others that pics don't do justice to the ZCP wheels. I was definitely pleasantly surprised the first time that I saw them IRL. But I still love my 220Ms as well.

You really can't go wrong with 359Ms on the coupe, cab or sedan, looks good on all. Do a search for Aburritos ride as it would be a good example of SG sedan with ZCP.
