Alekshop Roll Bar & Recaro Profi Install

Recently installed the Alekshop roll bar, Recaro Profi's w/ VAC floor mounts, VAC anti sub bars, VAC fire extinguisher mount, and Schroth harnesses in to my E92.

The half cage requires welding in floor plates so that it can bolt in and out. It is completely removable and could be pulled out of the car within an hour. I still use the car on the street occasionally and compete in the the One Lap of America with it, so I added back some rear interior for comfort and noise dampening.

I used the VAC lap mounting brackets for the lap belts on both side, and also ordered a third set to mount the factory seat belt receptacle to. I retained the factory three point belts for One Lap transits and street use.

I did a slider on the drivers seat, but solid mounted the passenger seat.

If you care to follow along for any more of the build on the car, you can do so here: https://www.facebook.com/OneLapM3?fref=ts

are those heavy chunks that are welded only to allow it to bolt on or does it somehow increase strength as well.

been considering a bolt in but reading both good to go/would never do that type of arguments.

car looks good and must be fun as heck to drive!

Very nice!
When I spoke to Alekshop about the cage they said simply bolt it in or weld....they didn't specify anything about mounting plates as I was going to do the install myself.....Glad you threw this up and mentioned it.

It's interesting that with the alekshop oil cooler and c&r radiator you run a supercharger without heat management problems!

Random question but what side mounts are you running for your seats? Those looks like it has more adjust ability compared to my recaro ones. My seat sits pretty low and been searching for different side mounts to raise the seat a bit. thanks in advance
