I don't know, maybe it was just as an example because California has strickt emissions. I know Nevada has no state inspection, just registration tax.
But I'm curious, how does a state testing facility measure emissions? IOW, does a particular car/model have a range that it's emissions can be in, example: 250-300 g/pkm of Co2? I'd guess as a car gets older, it's emission components/wear & tear might not perform as well as brand new and the emission output might be higher. Can anyone explain?
I'm gonna try to google this and find an answer. I wonder because if the high-flow CAT puts out more emissions, but can pass most state inspections then there must be an acceptable range of emissions per vehicle make/model. ??

I'm also curious about your cats being high quality. I've asked numerous times for more info on them. CFM comparisons mainly or if they are a ceramic or metal matrix cat. I've never gotten answers on either. How come yours produce codes?

I had AA x-pipe with HFC on my car for about 5 days and had 0 errors or codes ...

Don't know... Got my info from Omar who said it was necessary. I would assume he'd be the guy that knows.

I am just throwing in my 2c worth here ... I had a full Milltek exhaust system with high flow HJS cats (if I am correct) on my E46 M3 and never had an issue. Given that I can understand people making the claim that anyone using HJS catch will not have issues with the CEL. I had it on the car for at least four years before I sold the car and the system separately.

I had the Milltek exhaust and high-flow race cats on my VW R32 and boy was I happy with the sound and performance gains.

Here is a dyno of just the x-pipe section, no HFCs. Hope this helps:

On a Dyno Dynamics my Fabspeed x-pipe (only, no HFC's) made 8hp peak. I think Fabspeeds claims are clearly way too optimistic for the x-pipe section only .

Yeah, numbers looked off to me as well which is why I had asked what the gains were as they did not specify in detail.

I will definitely want HFC's on mine but am looking for system that will give me best gains, weight reductions and sound.

Yeah I'm going to go with Fabspeed. I'll order it from Taylor @ Ape Performance by the end of the summer hopefully! Which are you leaning towards? Eisenmann Race paired with an X-pipe sounds insane
