BMW Assist subscription would allow a remote unlock.

Do you have AAA or another roadside assistance service? The dealer might be able to help too.

Or maybe those sketchy looking kids hanging out in the parking lot. No joke, a few years ago I was out with a buddy and he left his keys in his Civic. Some guys were kind enough to jimmy it open for him for $20 lol.

Assuming all your doors are locked, Call aaa or locksmith and they can get your car doors open in 1 minute. Then open the ski pass thru in the middle of the back seats. Have the tow truck guy use a long flexible metal pole they usually have and open the trunk by pulling on the emergency truck release on the inner trunk cover through the ski pass through hole. It should be a neon or glow in the dark yellow/green. That will open the trunk.

Instruct the hooker in the trunk to pull the trunk release. You may want to stand back and wait with some chloroform and a handkerchief

if OP has CA, it would automatically unlock when closing the trunk. I've closed the trunk many times with my keys in my golf bag. and it opens automatically every time. i'm thinking the OP doesn't have CA. good luck.

I once had a faulty trunk keyhole and a disconnected battery. Not fun. Although I had the keys on me, I could not get the trunk to open. I had to reach through my ski pass thru and push (pull would be normal operation) the seat folding latches. Once the seats were folded down, I crawled partially into the trunk and pulled the anti-kidnap handle. SO...don't think that just because your seats are folded up that your trunk valuables are protected from theft!

Several cases have been reported here of the CA fob not triggering the trunk release properly, so while yes that's what should happen, it doesn't always. And if you've done this several times, maybe stop putting your keys in your golf bag just in case you take a non-CA car to the course sometime?

Locksmith can jimmy the door, but you have to hit the remote unlock very quickly after he opens the door... The alarm will sound and if it is not unlocked with the remote very soon it will deadlock in theft mode and only the dealer can deactivate it, which means tow to dealer...

This is where your famed midget hookers would really come in handy. They could slip in through the ski pass.

I'm going to try, but the remote is in trunk. Basically once he pops the door if he can then I am going to push trunk button and grab remote asap

Doesn't offer that on the 2008. Only on 2014 and newer models

Incorrect. Remote unlock has been available since long before 2008, as long as you have a subscription active. 2014 (technically F Series BMWs) added some new stuff like remote horn, AC, and (I think) headlamp control.

Where did you read about this deadlock mode?

How come ?! my car prevented that from happening.

i once made the mistake to put my remote in the trunk and tried to close the trunk, but the lock would not shut and the lid bounced back up and the car alarm beeped and backlights flashed one time. I was very happy. Can it be a convenient access feature only ?

Yes, that's only for Comfort Access cars because they have the additional equipment to triangulate the location of the fob.
