How to remove trunk spoiler

I recently bought a carbon fiber trunk spoiler for my e92 M3, and I am not sure how to remove this stock spoiler that is on it. If anyone knows anything, please let me know, thanks!

Saw it here heating up with hair dryer and going under the spoiler with dental floss .

Or since he's in AZ, just let it sit in the sun all day and remove while adhesive is soft.

Did you have to heat it up first?

Blow dryer and fishing line works great to seperate the lip from the trunk. Then just use your fingers to roll up the remaining adhesive into a ball with your fingers. Just did this recently.

I strongly advise against fishing line as it can damage the paint (I damaged the paint on my 335 using this method). I suggest using waxed or shred resistant dental floss. It might break a few times so you'll need a supply on hand. I used this to take the OEM trunk spoiler off my M3 with no issues. I did this without heating up the spoiler or letting the car sit in the sun (although I see how this could've helped).

I used painters tape to protect the surrounding area, then used a plastic trim removal wedge to pry it up. After loosening one end and getting enough room to get my fingers under it, I was able to use a knife to easily cut through the adhesive. Took less than 5 minutes. Removing the remaing adhesive from the deck lid takes a bit more time.

3M adhesive remover will make quick work of the leftover adhesive.
