not sure who you are referring to, i don't compare a performance car with a pickup with a redneck on the wheel. I know what is their respective places. neither do I feel I have to drag race them. Also bigger diesel engines is nothing special. There is always bigger things.

4.4 is turtle sauce man. Most cars on the road utilitarian in purpose and have the (lack of) Performace to back it up. Most daily drivers are turds. The M3 typically isn't someones daily beater (mine is though). I have other cars to go fast in, haul stuff or do long haul cross country road trips in.

Don't for one moment think the M3 (especially stock) is fast by any stretch of the imagination. It's just a decent beater, nothing more.

It currently powers that container boat :

Cummin feels like a mosquito in comparison. Everything is relative.

If you want to go down that line here is the Cummin 18.9 liter engine. Torque 1,580 lb.ft. No technological merit. "Upsizing without smart" : a popular american idea that almost bankrupted GM and Ford if it wasn't for a govt bailout and the 2008 crisis that electroshocked them. It was a much needed reform, they silently learned and copied modern efficient "technology with real merits" from european and japanese cars in the last 5-7 years. That was a much needed reality check for the american vehicles industry.
Motors are built for different purposes - one is for hauling stuff, the other for hauling a$$! Don't get it twisted however, the one that built for hauling stuff can ALSO haul a$$ in this conversation!

3 days faster than any other boat hauling containers across the world. Real world meaningful performance.

I suppose it's meaningful if it means delivering my iwatch on time.

So are the rod bearings shot when a foot of material gets scooped out or what? Measure wear with a ruler?
