My 2010 M3 Now On Order

New member. Ordered my 2010 M3 convertible last Friday. Pretty much fully loaded. The only things I did not go for were the upgraded radio for $1900 and the alarm. Color Jerez Black with extended Bamboo Beige Interior.

Congrats Hilton! This thread should be in the "Ordering" Section of the forum.

Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome. After going back and forth, I ended up adding the enhanced premium sound to my order. My reasoning was that my current 2008 335i Coupe came with a Logic 7 system. Seems to me that I would be going backwards if I went with the stock radio that comes with the M3. Am I correct in my analysis?

No doubt you are correct. I'm coming off a Logic 7 & listened to both the stock & premium sound setups. The stock stereo in the M3 did not seem anywhere as good as Logic 7. I went the premium sound route as well. Premium sound is much better

Hell, throw in the $400 alarm too -

Nice, when do you expect yours? They haven't put the order in for mine yet as the finance person is away on vacation.

If I remember correctly, when I ordered my E46 M3 it was about the same time of year. BMW pretty much shuts down production for a whole month for vacation. This means longer wait.....

Congrats on your order

You really ought to do the alarm. Too bad Logic7 is not an option. Premium Sound is better than stock, but I don't know if it's worth $1,900.

That was my thinking when I skipped the premium sound. Of course too many years shooting trap and skeet didn't exactly leave me with audiophile ears anyways.

I don't think they do that now. My 2010 E90 is in production right now and is scheduled to be finished on the 12th.

The wait really is more dependent on what production spots your dealer has open. I was lucky enough that my dealer already had an early 2010 M3 spot allocated, so all they had to do was change the car to my preferences.

On one of the forums, I read the alarms were not going to be prewired in the 2010 M3. If this is true, and I'm not saying it is, you definitely want to order the alarm with the car if there's a chance you may add it later. Looking at the 335 alarms, you can get an OEM one for around $265 on Ebay and then you need the dealer to get it to work even if you install it yourself.

does the alarm work with the comfort access fob? meaning it's all contained on one fob

They close down the month of August still...at least that's what my CA said.

+1 on both. I really wish we could get Logic7 too.

Congrats on the order...hopefully the wait is not too painful.
