The reality of BMW's is that they are not as comfortable and luxurious as a mercedes.

Mercedes are for people that like doing straight line races like on the freeway or at a red light. BMW's are for enthusiasts who also like a good deal of luxury.

Therefore, the mercedes is for all out luxury while the bmw is the best of both worlds. If you just want performance go buy a lotus.

That being said, all of these companies are simply doing what they have been since they were established. They all have firm holds over their respective sectors and there is no reason for them to change.
Ummm......not necessarily. Mags like TopGear have pointed out that the C63 ride (in comparo with M3,RS4,IS-F) is overly harsh and not very Merc like at all....

All in all who wouldn't want an open-top E93-hair blowing in the wind-V8 snarling sound all around you feel over an insulated sedan like the C63?

The E93 M3 has much better handling and therefore feels and performs much quicker than the C63. Both very nice cars though

It has been said over and over in more than one country's reviews that the M3 has the more forgiving suspension of the two. The Merc is being criticised for being "too much". Being uncontrollable and less composed at the limit and having a way too stiff suspension.

Well, what is even more impressive is that the M3 is a vert, that does not handle as well as a regular coupe. I am impressed.

Thanks! Is there a UK M3 specific section as well? Don't take this the wrong way but if its a BMW I'm only interested if its got an M badge on it and the UK section seems to be mainly non M related????

For me the money shot was seeing his huge grin shortly after taking the wheel of the M3, that told us all we needed to know - no grinning in the AMG, and at the end of the day it is about fun and enjoyment, and that one scene said all that needed to be said.
