Info on an e90 M3 (2010)

Hello again everyone...
After a a brief hiatis and exploration and ownership of other M cars after the birth of my daughter a few years ago, i am getting back in to an s65 powered e90...

To that end, i have a deposit down on a car that i am going to pick up later this month... it is used to i thought i'd post on here and see if anyone owned it or had any meaningful info on it...

Specs:
Last 7 of the VIN are E202196
Space grey, N red interior, DCT with about 45K miles.
Per the carfax that car has a MD history and two previous owners...

What makes me think it was one of YOU that had this car is that it seems really well looked after...super clean... Virtually no swirls (ie hand washed) and the leather is almost new (it was conditioned and maintained) and it still has dinan stop and go pedals...

anyone know this car?

Thanks again and it feels good to be back!

Sorry, perhaps previous owner just liked keeping his stuff "dialed in"!

I was in the same boat as you 2 months ago. Hawaii e90 car, gone through 6 owners, hoping at least one would be on the forum or recognized it, but nada. But it had a bunch of extras that I know would have been a forum members car.

Shape us clearly good. If maintenance history checks out and the car is what you want - make a run for it mate!

Thanks everyone... I did pick it up yesterday and drove it back from Pittsburgh, I wound up getting and extended easycare warranty...

It is a DCT so it will take some getting used too before i can draw some pleasure from driving it, but it still beats all the turbo charged nonsense coming out of the current M division...

A lot of owners don't stick around after they sell their cars. So it may very well be a former car of a member, but they are also equally likely to not be hanging out here anymore.

Congrats on the new car!

Haha..good find...i got lucky... i loved everything except the DCT, but had to get it because of my wife.... I had called a month ago and it had sold...the buyer didn't want to wait for the recall as (it took a month) and found one closer to them...i got the call and drove up there the next day and put a deposit down.... right now it is parked in front of my house

You’ll like the DCT but it really comes alive with a retune.

I have both the Dinan tune and Euro DCT tune, seriously both (and others) really makes the drive that much better..

The best way to confirm whether it was owned by a member here is to first open the trunk and inspect for signs of past storage of hookers.

Sniff for cheap perfume, inspect carefully for long hairs stuck in the carpet, what about elements of used shiny wrappers and rolled up dollar bills?

Do this first, and then let us know. Thanks!

The Dinan software is dirt cheap now, DCT just $114, and it will default DCT to D mode even though their website doesn't indicate this.
https://www.dinancars.com/product/d9...eries=&mid=M3/

If you go with Dinan DCT software, I'd recommend doing the engine software too for $267. You probably won't feel any of the 9HP/8TQ increase, but it really improves how it runs & drives when cold.
https://www.dinancars.com/product/d9...eries=&mid=M3/

The two together really improve how the cars drives. My dealer had to code an OEM alarm install, and they inadvertently wiped out the Dinan software. I could notice it immediately within blocks of the dealer.

Have fun w/ the new M!
