EOI Group Buy Test Pipes & Tune for M3

There is sufficient interest to start an EOI for a Group Buy purchase of Turner Test Pipes (or similar) & Tune.

I have requested pricing based on 3 of each but we can increase that number and hopefully reduce the price if there are others interested.

It's what we do here in QLD if you can find the right shop. I'm now getting a jig made at our exhaust shop to supply these in Aus at a good price in mandrel bent stainless steel.

On offer will be
Primary delete pipes
Primary and secondary cat replacement using 200CPSI magnaflow HFC
Custom X pipe with 200 CSPI magnaflow High Flow Cats and 2 resonators
Above as a quad resonated setup.

A custom X pipe avoids cutting up the OE X pipe which may be required at some time to return the car to stock.

This for some will avoid freight costs from USA and the poor exchange rate.

I'm in on the Group Buy.. and very interested in the X Pipe to avoid having to source a stock exhaust when it is time to return the car to "one lady owner, low mileage, never tracked" condition

Haha like mine, only driven on Sundays (at Queensland Raceway)
Other thing too is you will get better performance from an X pipe. I'd suggest a 2 resonator/2 Cat solution, quad resonated is sweeter but stinks and the fine is BIG.
I have my car booked in on the 10th of November to compile the 3 variants and I'll be putting an x pipe on my own car.

Will upload photos as we go but here is a photo taken by one of our guys who had the primary cat delete and secondary cats replaced.

Having come from running a custom made cat-less system on my old 335, I don't want the hassle (and paranoia) of running a system that will get my car yellow sticker'd and my wallet punished.

I'd rather forgo the couple of extra HP for the sake of being able to relax when I drive past the boys in blue

The guy doing the work is seriously good and had looked after our members here in Brisbane. He owns the business and does all the work and thought he may not have the time to build jigs so we are using my car as a model and hopefully building a spare of each for referencing. I'd be interested in polling what is going to be the most popular, the primary cat delete is great but an X pipe will give a bit more again. It will mean testing some resonators for the rear to make sure it's not too loud or raspy. Aim is to to toward the deep throaty V8 sound.
Our guys to date have had the primary cat delete, primary cat delete and secondary cat replace (photo above)
I'll take photos and vids of the setups as they are done and post.. If there is a demand I'll get some jigs built so we can pump these out at a reasonable price without having to import. All components will be mandrel bent stainless.

I could be interested in the tune. I already have the Pipes and the car is coming to Perth at the end of the month so anytime after that would suit me.

Hey Dave, I may be interested in this mod, I don't want to go to loud as it's my daily driver but would be keen to look at options to increase sound a little and if possible HP.

You can Paul, a primary cat delete and tune will give you more power and not make the noise levels go through the roof with the stock rear section. Some of the guys in our group have done just this, lucky for you our guy is in Cleveland so you will be able to to it all in one.
You end up with a slightly louder tone, just a bit raspier

It's a great setup and cleans up all those squash spots in the OE front pipes.
I'll see how we go on next Monday, I'm away in USA for a couple of weeks after that and will organise production as soon as I get back.
Vids and photos of the systems next week all going well.

If it's the same place I got mine from (pretty sure it is), quality and price are excellent.

Update on Design: All going ahead this Monday but the X pipes may take longer to produce as we have to purchase a special tool to make the rear connectors. This will be finaliased Monday but I'm hoping we can do a primary cat delete (test pipe) and a full X pipe in 2 parts to you can just to the test pipes which can be later upgraded to a full X pipe so there will be 2 sections in the design. The plan is to design an X close to the front for better performance I'll post photos Monday when the car is on the hoist.

Hi Dave

I have been following this thread and recently joined the forum.
I've had my M3 for 18 months and it is still stock. I'm also looking into the primary cat delete options so will interested in your projects progress.

regards Phil

Thanks Phil and welcome, a primary cat delete gives very good and inexpensive gains. You will need a tune though to take advantage of the freer flow and switch off associated errors when they are deleted. I'll post more info as it comes in

Thanks Dave

Yes figured a tune may be required. Will also get rid of the pesky cold start cycle I believe.
There seems to be several vendors sprooking their tunes. Evolve seem pretty active on some posts. Most seem to make similar claims.

Cheers
Phil
