It's covered under Dinan's warranty, not BMWs.

Funny, i just found a place down here that can mod my ECM for $400 to get an extra 60 HP and it is undetectable by BMW service techs. I am guessing that I will have 416 HP at the wheels when I'm done. I had my car dyno'd at the wheels and it produced 355HP. I'll keep you posted when I re dyno the car with the mod. I don't need to mod the exhaust either, but if I did...

You're missing the point of the video buddy. A Dinan stage 3 with flash and FMIC got beat by a M3 by only a few tenth on the track and 1/4 mile. If they add DP, intake and KW-2 suspensions, for sure the 335 will kill the M3. A v3 or jb2h will shit on the M3 all day.

I get it. Modded cars can beat M3s. If they have to add all that just to match the M3 then I see no point in spending that much in mods to have a half assed M3 without a warranty.

Of course, to many, $10K+ is a lot to pay for 'maybe'... And the 335 driver is praying that his car doesn't go into 'limp mode' on his second lap around the track... |

335 coupe msrp - $41,800
m3 coupe msrp - $56,500 Difference $14,700 Yeah, put on your Procede, DPs, full exhaust, intake. There goes your warranty. Add up those mods, don't forget the huge cost of a LSD. And the huge cost of brake up-grade. V3 - $1495 DP's - $900 Exhaust - $1500 Intake - $150 LSD - $2000 Brakes front/rear - $6,000 Coilovers - $1,300 Total - ~$13,345 Then there is install cost on top of that. Not to mention if you want exterior mods and wheels. Just about every modded 335i on E90 post, has some sort of body kit, like the M-tech kit. More money$$$$$$ It adds up for sure. Even then you still don't get the interior bits in the M3, not to mention the M-drive and electronic damping control. Also the Double Clutch Tranny, not even offered in the 335i. The M3 is about refinement. For $14,700 more the M3 is a BARGAIN, not to mention you actual have a warranty. |

I think the comparison between the M3 and the Dinan 400hp 335 was great....sure the 335 makes good #'s....but it just doesn't have the feel of the M3....

Why don't the 335i guys say they don't want their 335i to handle and just want straight line speed. This would kill the whole 335i vs. M3 argument. If you want a straight line speed car, just buy a used Mustang and supercharge it. Also I find it funny you deleted the rest of my post. You know it is reality. Exactly |

Here in Portugal, we a make some test's with a M3 E92 vs 335d E92 chipuning and until reach 220Km/h, the 335d was always faster.
But this not mean that M3 is one of the gratest sportcars at the moment. With the new DKG i'm sure that M3 will take advantage. Regards,
