Can anyone vouch for the fit on your products? Not accusing you of bad fit & finish but I had a bad experience w/some matte black kidney grills from a legit vendor on my old e46 M3. Also, check your pm.

to be honest I wish i had ordered mine from Cyba - i was too eager and bought mine from **********s. Which were great as a set, good tight fit and finish. but when swapping OE slats with **********s matte surround, it wasn't exactly the same. the two pieces had to be coerced to stay together when snapping them back onto the car.
didn't hear anything about that from the guys that bought theirs from Cyba. but with everything on the car and the hood closed, the .5 mm difference isn't noticeable (sits under the hood). |

are you talking about taking the OE grilles out of the bumper or removing the surrounding to add the OE slants on the matte grille?

Taking the OE grills out...I can't get my fingers in there. They are too thick.

i managed to get the top of the outer surround away from the grill just a little. Then i used a small right angle tool to separate it from the grill - exposing the clips that hold the grill to the bumper. the clips are held in place by little tabs that need to be pressed down (in the center of the clip). If you look at the replacement grill you'll see what i mean. I took that same little right angle tool (basically a small screwdriver with the head bent at 90 degrees) and stuck it in there and pushed down the tab - pull lightly and the clip pops out easily. Repeat for the top clips. The side clip you can reach in and pull towards the center (you can feel it with your finger that is now crammed inbetween the slats). Pull with some force and it pops out. For the bottom clips - i had to pull the grill forward (since the top and side clips were out) and get my hand behind the grill. Reach down and pull the little tabs up and the clips pop out somehwhat easily. Trick here is to not bend the grill forward too much.. just barely enough to get your hand in there. -- I know this isn't the best tip - but I just couldn't get them off by simply "pull towards you with even pressure" Good luck. |

Ok...I finally just opened the hood and took out the 4 hex bolts holding the grill in place. I pulled the grill back and easily popped them out. Literally, took all of 5 minutes....no bleeding knuckles. Here's a couple of pics with the OEM chrome grilles with the CF surrounding. I'm happy except that the left one when facing the car has a dull finish to it. I tried cleaning with soap and water but it's still very dull compared to the one on the right.

I think I like it, could you take a pic from a distance to see how it all integrates. Thanks!

I got mine from cyba and they look great! 1x1 weave. Can't tell you for sure if they fit perfectly with the OEM slats because I don't have my M yet but from everyone else they say it's fits perfect. Which I'll take their word for it.
Cyba care to chime in regarding fitment since you tried it own your own. Thanks again for the grills |

Not really sure to be honest...It's not a perfect match to the roof but it looks good.
