Metal "tap" noise when letting off throttle?
I know most of y'all have upgraded rear suspension bushings so I figured that I'd ask here...
My new track car has almost 99k miles and I've noticed a very slight metal "clank/tap" noise occasionally when I go on / off throttle at low speed. Almost sounds like a diff with excess backlash or a diff twisting and tapping the subframe mount locations when the car goes on/off load. I'm assuming it's the diff bushings or maybe Guibo... Haven't had any issues after a couple track days and it hasn't gotten worse after ~1k miles and 2 events. Anyone here have similar issues in the past that were solved with new bushings? I have some powerflex diff bushings but likely won't have time to install them before the track this weekend.

I had the same noise and a new center support bearing fixed it. Maybe it's time for a CF driveshaft. Fresh diff bushings could never hurt either. Solid subframe bushings are a must as well.

I have solid subframe bushings but haven't had time to do much else in the rear yet as I just picked up the car like 6 weeks ago.

Yeah definitely check for lash in the driveshaft. If the center support bearing is excessively worn it should be easy to spot. |

Or, alternatively, search the Forums using the term "cowbell"…

Haha yep, I learned a new word for the sound I'm hearing (cowbell).... I'm fairly certain it's the center bearing after lurking some threads and videos.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys!
