Smile E92 Hits Laguna Seca!

Hey guys,
I just spent this past weekend at Laguna Seca and what an experience it was. I've been driving this track on Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo for the last 15 years, so this was something of a dream come true for me, and an experience I'll never forget.

The on track photographer for the event took some great pictures so I figured I'd share with you guys. I'd been debating changing up the wrap on the car for a couple of months but these pictures in broad daylight have almost completely changed my mind. On to the pics!

those are some pretty good shots. i've been there twice with speedsf. the first time it seemed like every other picture was pretty blurry and mediocre, and the second time i went the photographer was out of town so there wasn't one.

it sounds like you and i were in the same boat.... been racing at LS since i was a kid on gran turismo. very surreal the first time i went. now its a twice a year thing for me. how were the track surroundings? pretty green? what else did you do up there? i really dig carmel. if you had any great experiences at any restaurants, i want to hear about it.

It was incredibly green. We drove up Friday night from LA at 7pm so we got in around 1am, and we were at the track by 8:15 on Saturday and our last session ended at 4:15. We were completely exhausted by then so we didn't do much exploring, went out to dinner at Lallagrill (great casual trendy place with super reasonable pricing) in Monterey and then got to bed early since we had Sunday on the track as well. Then we were at the track again from 8am-4pm and then back on the road back to LA, so again not much exploring. What we didn't get in exploring we made up for in track time. The event was a friends and family of Mazda track day, so there were only about 12 cars in our group and we got 5, 20 minute sessions each day with a personal instructor for the whole day should we want one. All around a really well done weekend on Mazdas part

damn. can we be friends and you invite me next year?

i'd be way too damn tired to make that drive after a track day. when you go back, take a few extra days and hang out in carmel. the first time i went, i split my time between monterey and carmel, and i liked carmel better. it just seemed more quiet and a little more my style. the restaurants are so good, i have two places now that i have to stop at (mission ranch and il tigamino).

Great shots, love the color of the wrap, thought it's factory color for a second!

Mind posting the suspension spec on the car?

Haha I was playing the role of "friend", one of my best friends is a marketing employee for Mazda so we went together

It's just on Swift Road & Track lowering springs. The car does look REALLY low in all of these pictures but normally there's maybe a finger and a half gap in the front wheel well. The rear sits a little lower
