And not going to bother with who's better than who, but everyone gets compared to Jordan....t mac, vince carter, hell even harold minor. During Kobes "era" he's the only that gets continually compared, that should speak for itself. |

Well I guess then most commentators, sports radio persons and professionals in the game are embarrassing because they compare them ALL the time.
You clearly have no clue. While Kobe is not better to say there is no comparison shows you know nothing about basketball, troll.

if he isnt suppose to take shots early in his career coz he had van exel, now late in his career that he has pau, howard down low why is he still chucking up 25 shots per game when he knows the only way to make d12 happy is to give him more touches which in turn would give d12 more energy on the other end of the floor. |

D12 ain't even healthy... he has no moves down low right now cause his back is obviously still bothering him. If you actually watch any of the Lakers game, Kobe passes the ball more than he should in the first quarter or two.

iknow that. isee it but he forces waay too many shots too. it would be understandable if he still had smush luke watever teammates but its different now.. all those 4 guys are former allstar players. its beyond me why at times his shots are doubled to what pau and d12 had

He was a bright eyed rookie out of high school who though talented was still far from his prime. I remember watching and thought the coach put too much pressure on him for the moment. Van exel had taken a lot of big shots and would at least hit the rim. In that situation at that point in time, van exel or eddie jones should have gotten the call. And Kobe was never a great 3 point shooter, but when he put more weight and muscle on down the line, his range improved. I don't care what the fg% or 3pt% says. Today and for many years, I'd rather have Kobe take the last shot over most anyone. But stick to the point. Comparing '97 to the current day lakers is pointless. I've said that howard getting more shots increases his defensive effort many pages back in this thread. And I'm one of the few Pau supporters in this thread....I've said he should get more post touches many times. |

Hes clearly a box score stat guy, any avid watcher would see throwing the ball into d12 results in a double team/foul/missed ft's or TO from the start or late in games. Throwing the ball to passive pau leads to a hockey assist or TO with flailing arms or watchin him chuck a 3 in this system.

like i said bfore im a laker fan thats why im here. what i get from ur posts... ud rather see kobe launch/ force shots especially late in the game when he gets doubled. hows that workin for you guys? u guys gotta stop defendin bryant and accept the fact that he is a huge part why lakers are failing right now. bad decision making, poor help on D and letting D12 shoot more is not happening coz of him.

Not a comedy, more like a soap opera... And a bad one at that.

Anyways, it looks like Lakers are done. I don't even think they will make it to the playoffs. They are 15-21 right now. 8th seed right now is Portland 20-16. It would be very difficult to turn it around and catch the 8th seed. Lakers are playing Heat, Bulls, Grizzlies, Jazz, Thunder in the remaining of this month.. |
