Well if you do indeed drive infrequently, then a battery maintainer is definitely a good investment.

Just get a battery maintainer and call it a day.

Had this issue also, dealership told me it was due to the fact that the alternator doesn't kick in for 15-20 min so if your daily drive is under that then battery doesn't get a chance to charge. Installed the trickle charger and plug it in once a week to top off. Time will tell I guess!

It may take 15-20 minutes to replace the charge that was taken out of the battery from starting the car and powering everything up. If it is only driven for 10 minutes I can see a cumulative draw.

Just had a serious fight at my dealer...
I've had the battery charged twice, and had to call CAA twice for boosts over the past six months. No argument about "driver profile" - I do 30,000 clicks a year. The service manager refused to replace the battery under warranty at 80,000 clicks. They did, however, find a loose battery cable which may well explain the problems I had in the spring and summer. Now I've got warnings again at 90,000 - and the weather is about to get cold. The sales manager overruled the service manager and I'm getting a new battery Monday.
