Anyone else order the scale Koons Art Car?

Just Curious
...so, placed an order thru the Ticher BMW boys this week at $179 (pre-order). Given the limited supply and demand, pulled the trigger even though still quite pricey.

Anyone have luck finding or ordering in the US?

we have 6 pre ordered already as well. Lets hope they come in soon.

I per ordered from a specialty shop in the uk in early December - no word yet on delivery eta.

This is what it says in the system as of last week.

"According to parts availability, there should be some due coming to states 2/1/2012, 2/17/12 and 4/16/2012 these were just ETA they are not for sure dates."

They did not arrive on the 1st so we are hoping for the 17th fingers crossed

UPS dropped off a big package this morning.

The Koons Art Car has arrived!

It's beautiful...the detail is fantastic!

It's supposed to be limited to 5k. In the past other "Art Cars" with normal production runs were 15k. That being said, everyone should be able to get it during the first wave. After a year or so it will become scarce.

Thank you Golffrr. Was able to get on the preorder list through Robert with a simple email. Hope to be picking two M3's (one art car and my 2012 order) from Steve Thomas next month!

I was expecting a wait, being it was described as a "pre-order", but when I got home yesterday there it was on the porch.

I have one on order through my local BMW store and another on order through the BMW dealer in Innsbruck, Austria. If these other two come I will keep them as I do have three places to display stuff like this. I was just hedging my bets and expected Tischer to come through last. Good work Tischer!

Mine arrived on Saturday - stunning but fragile, take care when removing it from the packaging! One of the roof antennas fell off, but i was able to find it, and reattach. The hood and trunk lid are also removable, not on a hinge mechanism like other models. The interior detail is also beautiful.

I ordered both cars and of course they are on backorder. Sucks when one was supposedly in stock. I hate these vendors who falsely put "in stock" on their site to get you to order and then mysteriously fail to mention until a week later or not even at all in some cases that they don't actually have the items.
