Sleepless nights ahead
I got a call from my dealer this evening that I can pick up the car on Saturday. Four more sleeps before the big day guys, just can't wait now. I was really lucky to get one of the first few cars to come in to Australia.
Silverstone II with black interior with extended leather, top-end stereo, comfort windscreen, 19". Just can't wait now. |

Sometimes the anticipation is better than receiving. I like anticipation to be honest. That would all go away when I got in the car though.

Anticipation
Yeah, and it's the inexpensive part, too!

Finally picked her up this morning. Unreal ... I still can't believe I own this car.
These are some quick ones. I will take a few more good one including the interior and will post tomorrow. Last edited by aussiem3; 02-20-2011 at 02:24 AM.. |

Still overwhelmed by the experience of owning it. What a car. So comfortable and even with 5000 rpm restriction, the driving experience is hair-raising. The exhaust not is not high pitch as the E46 but it has a very rich v8 note that will shame a lot of cars. This is around 4000 rpm, and just imagine what it will do when you really push.
I yet to use the M-dynamic mode, and so far have driven using the normal setting, and there is a hint of body roll but not as much as the E46. The gear changes are slick and light, and the steering is a tad lighter compared to the E46, but nothing to be alrmed about. Seats are comfortable and hug you to death. It corners beautifully ... and to be honest I can sit here and write and heap praise but I will not do justice. All those people who have second thoughts about owning this car do yourself a favour and go buy yourself one. Life is too short to have regrets ... and you will regret if you happen to buy something else. By-the-way ... go for the Silverstone II because it really shows the curves of this car. It's mind boggling. |

Nice to see another Oz M3.
Still waiting for mine in January.... Car looks better in Silverstone with the CF roof. With sunroof it looked a little plain. The plates on the one I test drove were "M3V8". They must have been quick to get that plate. |

Yeah, I don't mind waiting 6 months for what we're likely to pay. Silverstone does show the lines well, but I can't get it after having Titanium for the past 6 years.

Greg: My E46 M3 was titanium but this colour is very different to that and you will enjoy it. In my opinion it's by far the best colour for this car.

The price here in Mexico is not as bad: US$89,390. If we take the taxes out of Mexico price, the US price sould be in the range of US$70,650, fully equipped of course.
