I love Jersey Girls, but these are so stupid.
NEWARK, N.J. (Associated Press) -- Six women in New Jersey are recovering after they received buttocks-enhancement injections containing silicone used to caulk bathtubs.
State health officials say the women, from Essex County, apparently underwent cosmetic procedures from unlicensed providers, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported. Investigators have not determined if the cases are related. No arrests have been made. Instead of medical-grade silicone, the women received a diluted version of nonmedical-grade silicone. State epidemiologist Tina Tan says there's the risk for more serious complications when infections are not treated early. |

the girls had the procedures done by an physician without a medical license at a hotel room. When we asked her why, she said because it is cheaper than plastic surgery.
one of the girl came into the ER 2 weeks post-op and developed cellulitis at her right buttock (around the injection site). the wound site measured 5cmx6cm and was draining pus. the patient also went into acute renal failure (post-step GN). i was the medical student who admitted this girl at the ER. the patient gave a new meaning to the phrase 'pain in the ass' |
